The 2011 Evo's have a MUCh better factory tune than previous years. The 08's trapped 101mph, and the 11's trap 106?? Both are rated at 291hp. Clearly some reworking has been done. Regardless, Evo's are still great bang for the buck cars still proving they can hang with two door sports cars that have more power. Gotta love that.

Stevenh, yeah they are around 3550. R&T must have just rounded up. They certainly don't feel that heavy when driven though. Actually mine feels very similar to my IX which was over 200lbs lighter.

How are you liking it so far, compared to the IX? I'm still a ways out on getting one (damn bills!) but I'm torn between the raw power of the VIII & IX, and the refined yet muscular look of the X. Especially wingless :)

The Evo and 370Z are almost half the price of the Janguar and Lotus.

Not really a fair comparison, except that this shows that for near half the cost, you can have a car of equal of greater performance quality.

Congratulations on paying $70k+ for a Jaguar that still only runs low 13's stock.

Humbug.

To be honest it all depends on what you are using it for. For me, I'd NEVER get a IX again. I need a daily driver, not a weekend track toy. The X is so much better for daily use it's not even funny. Many people associate the added refinement with being "soft". This just isn't the case. The X's are just as capable on a track as the IX's. And with the MY 11's trapping 106mph, they are just as quick in a straight line too. I know looks are subjective, but to me the X looks way better as well. The IX's just looked cheap. I could never get over that.

i woud have loved to see a 5.0 in the mix with that 370z and the evo
Depends on the track. The 5.0 would get owned on a tighter course though. It still hobbles around like the old days; it just gets by better with more grip and stiffer suspension; steering still sucks and transitions still suck.

Remember they also compared this to a touring model Z. The sport version (without the touring package) is a good bit lighter.
