Racing Seats vs Stock Seats

Ok, ive been reading alot of stuff on the forums where people have been using racing seats, and a whole lot where people have been using stock seats, i love the cushy feel and the way the seat cups you for the stockers. what are the noticleable differences in the two (comfort wise) and which do you prefer? (i also realize that people remove the stock onces to lose alot of weight, so please put that if that is why you changed to racing.

Thanks

The "racing" in "racing seats" means they are built for racing.

Racing seats = light
stock seats = comfortable
I'll never drive a stock seat in a sports car again -- period. Fuck weight savings or style or whatever else the reason might be -- for me being held firmly in place is just awesome. I'll never forget the first drive I took with my old Momo seat. Every little thing the rear end did I could feel. You really get a much better idea of what the car is doing.

As for comfort -- I drove ~800 miles to La, then ~800 miles back (each trip in 1 day) and never had a problem. They are quite comfortable to just sit in. I do notice I can hold my concentration a lot longer on windy roads. I don't think you notice how much work you do straining to hold yourself upright for 30 minutes of hard cornering -- until you switch to a seat where you can totally relax. The only draw back is that they are a little more difficult to get into/out of especially when some asshole parks 4" from your door.

Oh, and the other drawback is if you ever want to take a quick nap in your car you can't recline a racing seat.

just remember, you get what you pay for.....;)
I have the fortunate advantage of being able to sit in just about any seat I want to and try it out. We have cars here w/ just about every Sparco model seat you can imagine. Torino's, Evo's, Alcantera's, Fighters, Sprints, etc. I will say that the fixed "racing" seats such as the Evo, Fighter, Sprint, etc are not very comfortable. They hold you well and sit in a fixed position. The Torino's, Alcantera's, etc are completely adjustable and are AWESOME seats. I am not at all a small person and I have sat in a set of Milano's for a 3 hour trip each way and felt just as good getting out of the car as I do with my stock seat. They are very comfortable and hold you very well. I agree that the comfort of the stock seat can not be reproduced, but the Sparco seats sure get my vote.
I can't ever get rid of my stock seats. I need to recline them for when it gets all hot and foggy in my car(know what I mean:D :D :D :D :D )
I have a reccaro seat, that reclines. I LOVE that seat, it is the most comfortable seat I have ever sat in. even better then stock....
Recaro SEs aka 2.5 R seats best confornt, weight and price.
My stock seats SUCK!! The padding is all gone and its hard to get comfortable! Hey Trent can I buy some Milano's from you, for practically nothing, it is Christmas you know :)

IMHO, the only real advantage of the recaros is that they are light. They are too firm, don't hold you much better than stock and you lose headroom. I am personally not a fan.
right now ive got stock seats but i spilled some coolant on my drivers seat (no idea how i did that  ) and it messed up the color of the fabric.... im thinking about getting some racing seats to replace them with if I cant get the fabric clean.
supra R seats are nice but they arent that light.. (40 lbs each?) and htey arent ultra racing seats, theyre like a cross between stock and racing IMO...
