Any ideas??

The bulbs are good, but when I hit the brakes there is no power going to the tail lights at all. The running lights, turns, and reverse lights work fine, as does the 3rd brake light.

I have not pulled much apart due to rain and colder weather and lack of time yet, figured I'd post and see if anyone else has seen this.

Follow the fix above. This happens to almost every MKIV. I took my LFS box out and resoldered all the points and problem solved.

Yup...mine was rigged up pretty nasty.

The previous owner had the issue, and just cut the singal wire that lights the warning light on the dash telling you the rear brake lights are malfunctioning, and spliced the brake signal switch wire directly to the brake lights.

I rewired the harness the right way, and had to solder 2 pins on the main board that were obviously screwed an all is good now.

I'll post up a pic of the 2 pins I had to resolder, it's probably the same for most I gather.

Thanx again!
