rear tire selection, Widebody or no?? (Road Racers and Tire Gurus wanted!)

hey guys ive been debating for a while what to do with the tire selection on the back of my car. my car was in an accident and now im taking it to the body shop and i want to know what you all think i should do. should i go for the widebody and put on 335's (either pirelli or michelin pilot sports) or should i stick with stock body and put on either 315/30R18 michelins or 295/35R18 TA KD's. from what ive read i see that the bfg's are the ones with the best grip out of any tire, but they also come in the smallest of the sizes im looking at. what do you all suggest? ill probably go with an 11 inch rim in the rear and a 10 inch rim (+47) in the front on 285/30R18s.

ill see if i can remember anything else later. thanks in advance for any advice guys.

regards,
Mark

self bump

and i looked for what my options are:

295/35r18 ta kd's
295/35r18 potenza s02
295/35r18 toyo proxie t1s
295/35r18 yoko avs sports
315/30r18 pilot sports
315/30r18 p zero
335/30r18 pilot sport
335/30r18 p zero

i also found out the goodyear supercars that are on the z06 and shelby series one are offered in 315/40r18...now thats a tall ass tire.

any opinions on what tire out of those are good?

The Pzeros did great at the track (road course), but it was only my first day so I wasn't pushing as hard as some might.

They suck in the rain though.

I really like the Bridgestone Potenza S-03s that are on my car, but I'm not sure if they're available in the size you're looking for. A lot of people also rave about the BF Goodrich TA KDs.

i have driven on s03's i love them as well...but they only make them up to 285. so their 'older brother' the s02 would be my option, which are good tires too, but i would definitely consider the s03's if i could.

i drove a ferrari on pirellis. they stuck very well (did have some hop though.) the only thing is the car (F355 spider) only has 275ish tq, i imagine that tire on a supra, would just be shredded (it was a 265) and that was a mid engine car too.
