I came across a small problem whilst doing my rebuild.
If you have a look at the pic:

(1) The Supra Manual illustrates someone tightening something in the hole of the flange, yet there is nowhere for anything to go.

(2) When the pulley is attached here, the cover plate doesn't fit flush to the block

Anyone had this problem before?

Sorry to break it to you, but you're supposed to put the oil p ump driveshaft on BEFORE you put the lower rear timing cover on. You're gonna have to take that badboy off, which means you get to redo the oil pan and everything!

Actually that's pretty cool. I get to miss Uni today to work on the supra.

Damn sorry for your mishap Rich....but I cant help but laugh and think of that quote in the off topic section where someone torqued down the had and finally looking over at the table....there it was....THE HEAD GASKET! AAAAAAAARRRH now THAT would drive me nuts!
