What happens if you remove the TPS and butterfly? I know that you disable the TRAC feature, but are there any disadvantages?

The disagvantage on an Auto are that you will put a tremendous amount more wear on the tranny and shorten it's life significantly. That is how I blew up my stock tranny (followed shortly by a Level 10).

I wouldn't recommend that you do this unless you have an extra $3400 laying around to have your tranny built by Sound Performance.
