I believe most of the gain from removing the headlight is because of the cool you can get vs. the hot air from an open element filter. With the "MAX AIR" you will already be getting most of this gain without removing the headlight. Without a "MAX AIR" you will probably get a gain from removing the headlight.
My name is Bryan. I have the lighter than red bpu 94. I don't think you gave me the 10mm then because I thought the guy pulled it out of his own car. I only made it to round 2 then lost to the guy who lent me the 10mm aw well
3 bolts..3 clips...5 minutes....no decrease in potential performance..but more then likely a increase....and at very least the same. Why not take it out. And it will definitely improve performance on the dragstrip. As will running max tire pressure in the front tires, pulling trac fuse, running 100 unleaded race fuel...then reset ecu, running fresh set of NGK 3330s, and running pulled hose..no ebc. All very easy things to do at track...nd definitely do help.
I just bought a Haltech Elite 2500 with wide-band O2 during their sale - 15% off helps :) The plan is to start installing in the spring, along with the VVTi head I already have and 800cc injectors. Otherwise the 94TT is just BPU, on stock twins and fuel, though I am considering Stu's upgraded...

I've been getting some PM's about this setup so I thought I'd post some pictures now and update it later with results.
I used ignition coils from an 04 Corolla which are "smart" coils with built in igniters. I ditched the stock igniter by soldering the wires together and wired in these coils...
Quick question for your guys. I am over in Ireland, we do not have E85 available here on pump. The fuel available in the pumps here is 95. I do not know if that is RON or Octane.
Any car I ever had was always just setup / mapped on pump fuel.
My question here is if I have a flex...
