I have noticed on my tranny and my friends that the output shaft seal is leaking. Has anyone ever replaced it? Recommendations on removing the driveshaft mounting plate?

Anyone?

I want to do this since my tranny is out currently for a new clutch install.

I had to replace my Output Seal. I ordered it from Kurt of Course as well as 4 v160 cases of gear oil. You only need to use 2. I wanted the extra 2 for security if I ever have a leak I can just pump in some more easily.

Since you have your trans out you should replace all the seals even if they are not leaking. I would change all the seals. You can change the output seal with the trans mounted in the car. You just have to remove the drive shaft and use a weighed slider to pull out the flange that covers over the output seal.

If you need any more info just reply here.

There were no leaks once the seal was replaced.

Is that shift Shaft seal the tiny one above the output seal on the upper part of the backside of the trans? If it is I heard the only way to replace that was removal of the trans. Also has anyone had any leaks/problems with their VSS sensor on the trans?
