Guys I need some help.

I got the car running after its been down for awhile and she fires up but has a nasty idle. It doesnt stay on unless I hold the idle up. So I pull the codes and I get #51 tps. I tried adjusting it but nothing made it better so I put a new one in today and it seemed better for awhile but it seems to do the same again only difference is Im not getting any codes. Maybe because I havent driven it. I trippled check the timing with the engine off but when I go to check it at idle the timing jumps around because of the higher idle and also it has a poping sound coming out the exhaust wich when the pop accurs the timing jumps.

Can anyone tell me if theirs a easier way to check the tps or can you only use the ohm meter? What should I have my ohm meter set at 200,2k,20k,200k?

Thanks for all your help fellas any info would be greatfully appreciated

its most likely ur TPS, or better yet check ur lines and intake for any vacuum leaks. i had the same problem and it turned out a rubber cupling on my intake was cracked. some bubblegum and duct-tape worked wonders lol j/k.
