German tuners RUF have developed their work on the 997, with this release of the RUF Rt 12 S. An upgrade from the non-"S" model released in Essen five years ago, the new car gets 685 horsepower from a modified biturbo boxer engine. This is a step up of about 35hp from the Rt 12. The new version also sees a maximum torque output of 880 Nm.

Although bodywork appears to be mostly the same as the previous version, there are definitely a few differences. For example, the sideview mirrors have now been lifted from the RUF CTR 3, and the carbon rear spoiler looks to be a bit bigger with its "tearing edge." Rear fenders are also a bit larger, and have new air ducts carved into them. LED lights are inserted into the slot where the fog lamps had been. They also use LEDs for the turn signals. Ruf is introducing a newly designed roll cage for this car, something they are including as a standard feature on the vehicle.

The car makes use of custom 19-inch light alloys which neatly house the big ceramic disc brakes. As an option, hydraulics can be added to adjust the ride height by as much as 50mm with the push of a button. Inside, the driver is kept in place by either bucket seats or sport seats. Also, the steering wheel supposedly offers the perfect amount of grip, and has been designed to provide "fatique-proof driving."

Like its predecessor, the new model can be delivered with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The RUF RT 12 S is now available for order at a cost of €255,900, excluding VAT.
The new dimension of driving pleasure is the RUF Rt 12 S. This high performance sports car connects high end performance with complete road capability. The refined biturbo boxer engine with 504 kW (685 hp) develops a maximal torque of 880 Nm and even satisfies highest demands. The roll cage which is integrated in the ceiling has been developed by RUF and belongs to the standard equipment of the Rt 12 S.The new RUF sets a new course with the dynamic design of the front with separate LED alternative lamps for the position light and the turn signals. A discreet carbon rear spoiler with tearing edge, air ducts which are harmonically integrated in the widened rear fenders and exterior mirrors from the RUF CTR 3 complete the appearance of the Rt 12 S.The RUF has forged 19 inch light alloy wheels in the front and in the rear. Behind you can see the ceramic brake discs of this high performance brake system. The chassis and the aerodynamics are tuned to a maximum speed of 360 km/h.Optionally we can deliver a height adjustable front axle which hydraulically offers 50 millimetres more chassis clearance by pushing a button for passing basement garages and higher curbs easily. The interior is constructed for a RUF known functionality. Extremely contoured bucket seats or comfortable sport seats and a steering wheel with maximum grip offer the right ergonomics for fatigue-proof driving. Applications in varnish, aluminium or carbon are possible and offer the client an individual scope of design.

The RUF Rt 12 S coupé can optionally be delivered with rear drive or four-wheel drive and costs 255,900.00 Euro (plus VAT).

I love RUF but Protomotive and EVOMS make way more for less money. And they handle well from what I've seen at FireBird Race Way

Ruf> all other Porsche tuners
This. I'm not saying that the other shops suck, but Ruf is a top-notch manufacturer. On top of that, the RT12 is the baddest P-car out.

Oh and Ruf wheels have always been gorgeous. I particularly like the early 90s 18" version.
