question: has anyone tried welding in a second bung in an aftermarket downpipe to accomodate both o2 sensors? basically, let the real o2 sensor do its thing so the computer doesn't complain... this way you don't have to touch the wiring... in theory the computer could be checking that the second o2 reads leaner (thereby verifying that the cat is actually working) but the o2 simulators seem to just randomly oscillate, so the ECU must not check this too carefully...

thoughts?

thanks!

I have a RMM DP and it has a bung for the second o2 sensor. The first o2 sensor is actually in the manifold right before the DP bolts up, and the second one is about half way down the DP. I have a 95 so I'm not too sure about the OBDII but I think when it notices that both o2 sensors are giving the same reading it knows that the cat is gone, but is you use the "random" simulator the reading is different so it thinks everything is ok.
