I will be setting my cam gears this weekend and
will not dyno yet. I have been told by people I
respect that -3E and +1I is a good set it until I dyno.
After looking at some web pages I noticed that some
people go as much as -6 marks on the exhaust side
to get earlier spool. What is the downside of this?
Bad idle? Loss of top end power? I tried to use the
search function but it has been disabled.
Thanks for any help,
Wayne
BTW, I am in true twin.

You can use the -3, +1 as a rough setting but you should go to a dyno and tune them when you get the chance. On the dyno I added another 15 to 20 rwtq between 3500rpm and 4500rpm and ended up moving to -4.5 and +3. Every car is different so if you want full value of the $ you spent on getting the cam gears it'd be a good idea to spend an hour on a dyno in the near future.
