One of the guys already got out of jail, got their car back, and caught up to the group (as posted on 6speedonline). I believe it was a Porsche owner.

I hear people say this a lot but if there are no units in the area then the radio won't help that much.

Twice I have outrun police and was never caught by "the radio".

That one loudmouth is a douchebag.
congratulations and good luck in your future outrun the law endeavors, but you won't think that when you're in jail, unless of course you are loaded as well and you don't care about several hundred or several K of moneys. :wavey:

I am surprised the public doesn't freak out about this. After all the speeding and the fatal accident maybe last year( not sure what year) you think they would try to ban this. I would love to be able to afford this. I wonder how they got them to stop.
They would just take the race underground, like it was in the old days. You wouldn't see the videos till after the race.

Those Gumball guys are crazy....

They could probably give two shits about getting a ticket or getting their car impounded. Going to jail sucks but hey, wire the money in and your out. As someone said earlier....that Veyron guy is filthy rich so he won't worry about a thing.

i remember when the bull run came through missouri on I-70. one of the greatest days of my life being able to tag along with them for 20 minutes, then the cops showed up and ruined the fun :(

dumb, rich & bored = dangerous...

this gumball stuff is so stupid...

If I had the money to afford some exotic cars, especially a Veyron, it would be very tempting and hard to resist going on runs like this and hitting crazy speeds on a straightaway. It would be even harder to resist if I had nothing else to do with my time aka bored as hell.

Its so fast its funny, the Veyron does 0–240 km/h (149 mph) 8.6 seconds! A mediocre 60 to 170 would take probably even less time!

Nice! I wonder how fast he was driving, to catch up! haha Ive got away from the cops, three times. Its never turned into a high speed chase, or anything. Ive just gotten lucky by turning lots of corners and driving like it was an scca event. Of course, that was when I was a little younger, and not so wise.

I was there for the opening event in Santa Monica. It was bad-fucking-ass. There are some dumb people out there that get caught up in the adrenaline, but my opinion is that everyone is responsible for their own actions and makes their own decisions. Every year there is something that is frowned upon. I would do this event in a heartbeat, but more for the experience (glamorous roadtrip and non-stop partying) rather than doing it as an excuse to drive crazy. Sadly, the reputation for this event gets tarnishes further each year because of some individuals.

I dont care what u guys think the Cannonball run was fun. I did it a few years back, from New York to Texas. On the way we party a lot, and stop at a lot of tracks. whenever i get $10,000 more, i'll do it again

Heard from a friend there were some cars pulled over today on I10 in Mobile, AL. One of them was a Merc vert with gumball logos on it along with a GT40

This is off, the Veyron's recorded 1/4 mile runs are in the low 10's at ~140 MPH. So 149 MPH would take probably around 11 seconds.

They were in town last night. My friend took some pics of the cars. One which included a veyron covered in 24k gold vinyl on the fenders. Leaving lunch I just saw some of there support vehicles. Most of the vehicles had dubai plates according to my friend.
