:wavey: hi everybody

stock supra is come with twins turbo, a lot of people convert it to single turbo. i have been always wondering, is it single turbo better than twin turbo (in sense of performance, not just consider the hp)? what makes the difference between single turbo and twin turbo? if i want to achieve 600 or 700hp, which should i consider?

Please anyone avise me on these questions, thanks a lot.......

First off I would recommend to you to do a little search in here. There is tons of information flying around;)
For 600-700 hp there is almost only the single way to go. Stock twins are maxxed out at around 450-500FWHP..And at this power stage there is no need for big twins.
So a GT35 or GT40 etc. would be the way to go for you.

Hope that helps.

front wheel drive supra? hah....

to answer the original question, think of it this way, two small turbos, vs one thats bigger than the 2 little ones combined. its a common misconception for people who don't know much to think twins are better. if you want twins, look into that HKS kit. Singles have a lot of advantages such as easier maiteneance, and problem diagnosis and so on. hope this helps.

I think he's referring to flywheel hp with 'fwhp' not 'front wheel hp'

With modern turbocharger technology, there's a lot of very potent and very fast spooling singles. Twins are fun for bling factor but performance wise there isn't much, if anything, to be gained by big twins vs a larger single.

In europe it's frequently referred to as 'flywheel hp' and abbreviated as 'fwhp' which of course makes it very confusing to us.

But since the user who posted it is in Germany, I'm certain that he meant it as flywheel hp.
