Sooo... it's already January. In the interest of herding cats, do we have any details about this year's event yet? If not, no worries, I know it's a big production to put together.

I'm just excited, and have had way too much sugar cereal today. :p

Gents, this next even will be my... 12th Supra event in Vegas, 8 consecutive years since 2014. I highly recommend that if you can make it happen, please do so, if even only once. You really owe it to yourself to give it a shot!

On the subject of the pandemic, we managed to make the event work last year, despite everything that was going on. Was obviously a bit different, but we still had a really good time. I honestly thought the turnout would be a bit on the low side, which would have been understandable, but I was honestly amazed. If I recall correctly, we had some 200+ cars and their owners attend.

Okinawa, I'm sure Vegas can be quite the amusing place for a single guy, come on out!

Pirate, I'm sure they're more than willing to have you as a sponsor... if anyone's a specialist on Supra differentials...

Cowboy, we live in Wyoming, and while it's really not that far away, we do take the scenic route to get there most years. That takes us through Utah, Colorado, Utah again, Arizona, then up to Vegas. All in about 2500 miles if I recall. Can it be an adventure? Most certainly. Can things go wrong? Sure can! Will you see the country in a way you don't get to very often? You bet ya. I'd certainly encourage that everyone making this journey try to do so with a couple friends, both for safety and for the sake of camaraderie. The long haulers would be wise to put together a "just in case" kit, I'd be happy to list what I bring.

The takeaway here, is that no matter how the trip goes, when you get home, you'll have a story or ten to tell. :)

Good news! Just found out myself, October 7th through October 9th, 2021.

Had to dig it out of some link to facepaper or something like that. Hopefully Javi or Aaron would do us the solid of posting some info on the forum... as is tradition. ;)

San Diego? You're practically already there... it's what, a four hour drive for you? Can't say I've made the trip between those two cities, so I dunno about the route... Seems like all the Socal guys are gone before we even get to bed on that last night, so it can't be that bad of a drive.

As for me... I'll have my work cut out for me to get my turd out on track. Though, between my gearing and Vegas altitude and my tiny turbo, I could probably run all of SV's track in third and fourth gear, so maybe a transmission rebuild isn't absolutely necessary...

Psshhhhh.... amateurs. Been single for every year.

IIRC, someone drove their MK3 out from Virginia last year. I recommend a few weekend trips to work any potential issues up to the surface to be addressed before the trip to Vegas.

Even if you go without a Supra, it's a blast.

2020 was a bit effected, but with the direction mayors/governors are starting to go with the economy I can imagine that 2021 will be even less restricted and more like pre-pandemic events. But, only time will tell. I'll be there.

Wonder if I can line up a business trip with this.....hmm

Alan, you're screwed if you ever meet a lady that's into that sexy stoic look you have going on. ;)

Indeed, we've had plenty of east coasters make it out to the event. I think the kid and his dad you might be thinking of were from Connecticut. Vermont? I forget myself. We also had a rather badass Mk3 driven by a guy named Tony from North Carolina in 2019. Total track special from the looks of things, and really, really well done. Oh, and both of the cars mentioned? They were 7m, that's right.

Even if you go without a Supra, it's a blast.
Can confirm. In all the years I've went, four of them I wasn't in my Supra, and three of them wasn't in a Supra at all. Still a great time!

This is perhaps the first year I'm considering towing mine. I love, love, love the road trip manners of these cars, one of my favorite parts of them, and frankly, the biggest reason I haven't just moved on and focused on building the Miata. However, seems like every time I autocross my Mk3, something breaks. You know how that last ten percent of a car build takes 90 percent of the time? Yeah... that's my car in a nutshell. Am I gonna turn down the chance at track time though? Not likely! :D
