@Dumeninao I have Driftmotion bookmarked! Those shocks are the most likely candidates. I'm lucky enough to have a (retired) brother who has a very well equipped shop. Milling machine, lathe, hoist, beed blast booth, etc...I'm the next vehicle in. My dad ran a pretty large auto body shop decades ago and most of us kids (big family) had picked up at least some abilities to work on vehicles. My car came from California (but kept inside) so the body and interior is in great shape. It's never been winter driven or exposed to salt. I'm the third owner.

I've had the replacement head gasket for ten years as well. My car died about the same time my mom got sick with cancer and passed. My brothers shop burned down. I started my own business... and on. The bright side of the shop burning down is that his new shop is pretty scweet!

I had mentioned that I believe the BHG was my own fault. For three reasons. 1. I didn't re torque after 1000km. 2. I didn't burp the cooling system. It only had an occasional "gurgle", but it's enough to cause hot spots. 3. I didn't reinstall the bottom engine shield. It is said to be necessary to cause proper cooling flow through the rad. I won't make those mistakes again. I was lucky enough to recognize the BHG at the first sign. Early morning start with a puff of "smoke" that I immediately investigated and could smell the unmistakable "smell". It didn't even affect the oil. Turned the car off and pulled it to where it now sits. I'm banking that the bottom end is still good.

Are you looking for white saw blades? I thought I read that a couple pages back. If so, I still have Vonda's. They came off of her 89. Car is looking really good. I commend you on all your hard work.

I don’t think so. I am however looking for someone to refinish and restore the factory 91 five spoke 16’s. I’ve reached out to AWS in Pelham and we’ve talked about powder and paint. I’ve told them I’m real sensitive to the wheels matching the center caps. I’m supposed to bring the wheels to them so they can quote me but I know they can color match based on their Facebook advertising. They did a set of the Infiniti G35 OEM 19 inch forged Rays I have on my G37.

@suprahero if you know someone in Alabama that can refinish rims let me know!

I don't know anyone that does it, but I have a powder coat gun and a double oven...…..just saying. If you buy the color powder you want, you and I can do it at my house.

I guess I should measure the inside of my oven to make sure a wheel fits in it. I think it does. It's a normal size double oven. One on top of the other one.

cool beans buddy!

AWS is Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists | Premium Wheel Repair and they have a location in Pelham. They charge $125/wheel or that’s what the last set of rims I took them cost me.

I’m getting the front bumper cover painted sometime in July, the wheels I’m not really in a rush to repaint or anything.

In other news I bought another instrument cluster in a final attempt at fixing my odometer.

I emailed Coverlay this morning asking them if they ever planned to make a ABS hard cover MKIII dash cover - there’s forum threads going back to 2008 on here and supramania where people were contacting them... I told them there was an army of Supra owners chomping at the bit for dash covers

It appears that I’ve lost my center AC vents (in the cluster) after pulling the radio out and putting it back in. Is it possible I put it back together wrong and blocked off those vents somehow? I haven’t taken it back apart yet to see if there’s anything different I could do. I miss my air vents!

^^ You completely lost airflow to the vents? Also, how is it working out with that audio interface adapter? So far I'm happy with my Bluetooth FM adapter, but a direct connection would be great.

It may be that the damper valve is stuck on the floor position. I would not expect removing thr radio to do anything with air flow, but you may have disturbed the HVAC controls if you removed the HVAC control unit.

Stereo adapter doesn’t function. Tested several headunits. Scam seller closed up shop on eBay offered me a partial return.
I’m trying one more time because I’d really like USB/aux. Contacted different seller first this time. I’ll be taking the stereo out at least one more time when the next one shows up.

Ordered another instrument cluster too, still want functional odometer. Happy 4th of July weekend!

So far I’ve pushed most of the buttons on the AC unit. I didn’t remove or disturb the AC control box. Upper dash vents work on Left and Right, just not center. I’ll try fiddling with buttons more and verify it’s not stuck on lower.

@Dumeinao on the factory radio + China USB/Aux adapter, I have this working. For the Toyota 16814 headunit you hit CD twice to access CD changer controls. I’ve tested with a 64 GB that’s literally full, my 2010 Infiniti factory headunit struggles with this USB drive

Tearing dash apart now to pull cluster. Still stumped on center AC vents. I’ll take any ideas on why the center vents wouldn’t work.

Awesome....except.... I have the original 87 hi end stereo.... AM/FM/Cassette only :ROFLMAO: Still it might be worth a shot.

At some point I have to keep reminding myself that my original goal was to keep it OEM. I actually have the original silver controls, but, I do have an 89+ climate unit like yours that I swapped in for a few weeks. Part of me wants to give in, put the 89 climate buttons in and buy a really nice modern head unit with XM, backup cam etc.

Maybe I'll make a hi-res photo laminated of the OEM stereo and attach it with velcro over the new stereo when I want to feel nostalgic.

I only have 4 of those type of lights. Lighter, ash tray, and the foot well area's on both sides. I would think your shifter would have one.

oic. I had this headunit but it doesn’t work. It also doesn’t have a CD player 5+7 pin on the back.

I grabbed the next closest OEM head unit with no anti theft.

For your AC vents, I wonder if something in your climate control unit flaked out. When you pulled your dash out for the odometer, I thought you might have not have connected the vents correctly. But still, you would be able to feel at least something, right? So, either the actuator that moves the vent position on the dash unit itself, or something in the climate unit would be my guess.
