OK, I'll start...I know Sony are generally regarded as crap among aftermarkets. That said, as I happen to have acquired this shiny free pair of older 6.5" coax (a former tenant left them NIB in the storage room I just finished emptying...along with a guitar...have to learn to play that sometime too :)), would they actually be a step down from factory speakers in terms of sound quality and clarity, or a small step in the right direction, considering they cost me nothing. They may also serve as great templates for some door baffles.

LMK. Thanks,

Bob

I know sony is crap but I'm sure it's better than most stock units. I'd throw em in if you can't get anything better.

wait you're driving an MKIII? I'm pretty sure speakers that are 10+ years newer are going to be better than your 15 year old stock speakers. Do it!!~

Thanks...not a matter of can't get better, just don't happen to care enough to spend money on stereo beyond the sub I put in, or for repair of things that breat (head etc).
