Starter method works the most. I have done this on lots of different cars. Just be sure to unhook any ignition coil wires etc so the car won't start when you do it! Trust me, I thought I fried my radiator but I got lucky that day. It just takes a quick tap and the starter does the hard work for you.

I just spend lots of lost time getting one out of my 7M that was out of the car already (last guy that had the motor did it)...I broke several sockets and a 1/2 drive ratchet (good thing I buy craftsman). We also bent a 3ft cheat pipe...It was funny having me stand on the block so it wouldn't move and my buddy was jumping up and down on the pipe...didn't work though. We ended up loading it into my 4Runner and bringing it to a garage that had High PSI impact gun...Even the gun had a hard time for a minute but it came out.

Moral of the story is never yank a motor without using the starter trick first!
