I'm eventually going to cut out my spare area and weld a piece of metal flush with the bottom so it's flat and build a custom sub enclosure that sits in there. Going to build it into a new trunk floor I will also have to cut out. Seems like a cool idea in my head anyways 😀

Can anybody that has a stock spare tire tub still in, show pictures of how the stock fuel tank sits against the tub? Mine wasn't installed when I bought my car so I can't confirm. I want to know how far down I can place the battery 😁

So, they have 3 Acura TL's at my local yard. A 98, 01, and 02. Any idea if those are the same model as yours and therefore a certain target of that same spare?
They're all FWD offsets, so if that one fits, I'd bet the other years do as well. The newer, the more clearance for the brakes would be my guess.

@Jlewis2524 you can only go as low as the stock tub. With a stock size battery, you will have to raise the rear false floor ~1in if you want it to be flat. Or you can just get a smaller battery like a sealed size 51 battery mounted on its side.

Thanks for the pic. Alot more of that stock tanks sits underneath the spare tire well than I thought. Ill have to make bump stops as well to make up the difference in height on the tub I cut out before doing the battery.
