Hello there

I am struggling to find a Speed sensor for my 93 MK3

Toyota Part Number is 89543 - 14010

Does anyone know of a modern replacement that could be used on the system?

After all it is just a permanent magnet!

Thanks

As a direct bolt in? Nothing that I am aware of. If your capable of doing some fabrication and electrical testing you can use a gear speed sensor like the one below to generate your signal.

Sensor is made by ZF, part # GS100502. The OEM electrical system should be setup to work with this already but you'll need to verify the signal is output to match the OEM signal, which may require installing a resistor.

You'll obviously need to fabricate some kind of adapter for this and realistically you need to disassemble the transmission to make sure your adapter is set to the proper gap. You can wing it and just thread the sensor in until it touches and then back it out 1.5 turns to set your gap (this applies to the above sensor only).
