i'm guessing it's something similar to mine.. car stalls when i boost and then throw the car into neutral... doesn't turn off if i brake in gear... thought it was the throttle position sensor but now i don't know.. do a search, there was a thread about it i believe...(i should follow my own advice..)
Boost leak, more importantly a leaky BOV that leaks air out of the system instead of back into the air intake accordian hose causing a super rich situation.
To solve this, check for boost leaks and possibly a new BOV.
Problem solved for around $45 for a new Bosch BOV.
I opened up the blown 7mgte to find some crazy damage. Part of a rod went through the block. I'm not sure what kind of damage the head takes when something major like that happens but I'm hoping the head is re useable....after taking her off it looks pretty good to the eye but I'm not sure. Now...
The swap is complete. Only thing I gotta do is run reverse lights. That's all but other than that it runs and shifts great. Still gotta get use to the stage 3 clutch. It was given to me with the setup I bought. Now I just gotta figure out an exhaust.

I have tools, a friend group ready to work on a project, and a backup car. I know nothing about these and to my suprise they are pretty cheap in my area. What are the major issues with these when buying used?
