well i purchased a HUGE IC setup that was originally becauseicans. It's a 24x12x3.5" garrett core with 2.5" aluminized steel hardpipes. The intake routing is probably the shortest and best i've seen, but with that i had to relocate the power steering, get some e-fans, relocate the oil cooler and relocate the overflow.

Anyways i got it installed and in all honesty the extra added lag, maybe 200 RPM at the most, doesn't even matter with the extra added ponies I just added. I didn't even notice the introduced lag because i frankly didn't care once boost started to hit and rise. I was boosting around 7 PSI when i put my car away for the winter, now i'm boosting about 12 PSI with a nasty fuel cut every so often. My new IC setup released almost 5 PSI without the aid of any boost controller of any sort. I couldn't really take it out to any highways or any main roads because i still don't have insurance on the car, but once i get it i'll be doing some highway pulls and see how it holds boost up until redline. The car honestly pulls like a freight train now. HUGE difference over the stock IC and stock pipes.

So for those looking to upgrade, i say don't even worry about the size. Find something that you'll be happy with for your FUTURE goals. Besides the exhaust, this is the 2nd best mod that i've done to my car. Looks badass too from the front.

As for my fuel cut i'll have to find out the culprit by doing a pressure test. Hopefully it's just a hose clamp and not an intake gasket or something else.

lol. A lot of people were after his setup, but i beat you all to the chase!! and i'm glad i did too!!!

I'm sure i have a small leak somewhere becasue 12 PSI seems a bit low for fuel cut. I've seen people hit 14 PSi on the stock CT, however all cars are different. Today wasn't even that cold either, maybe 50 farenheit. I don't want to know how bad i'll be hitting fuel cut when it gets colder then that.

Nice IC & pipes.
According to a Toyota white paper I read long ago, actual stock FCO is a range from 11.8 to 12.3 PSI. My [full] TO-4E hit FCO at ~7-8psi* on the dyno when we disconnected the F-Con/FCD. YMMV.

*edit: all boost is not created equal ;)

^ oh for sure. This really wakes the CT-26 up big time. Almost like it's on roids now.

i have to get rid of this fuel cut, however i told myself NOT to spend anymore money on go fast mods this year. Oh well. 550s+lexus AFM+AFPR+walbro, here i come :D

I was wondering if you had that installed yet, I am glad you are happy with it. I took my time making the piping as short as possible. I also hand made those end tanks myself:D. You could try to back out the screw on your stock afm to raise FC a bit.

lol. I've had it in for a while but i couldn't drive my car because i was waiting to install my radiator and flex-a-lites. The weather was good this week so i had it all installed and tested out.

if i back it out a bit, does that change my AFRs??? i don't want to risk running lean.

get a fuel computer. Once you lean it out up top you will be able to run higher pressure w/o hitting fuel cut.

not only will you stop hitting f/c, but you could gain 10- 40 horsepower from tuning alone. IMO, a fuel computer should be earlier in the mod path than 550's / lex.

i think i'm going to get a wideband 02 before messing around with air/fuel.

You’re recommending a fuel computer without a WB?

You can do the Lex/550 and be fine.

A WB should be part of any fuel-tuning package.

I never suggested not getting a WB, I bought mine before my fuel computer. I just didnt say it because tuning a fuel computer with a wideband is implied, unless your going to pay to dyno tune which is ridiculous.

Why you should get fuel comp and wideband before lex / 550's (assuming you are on stock turbo, which you still should be if you are trying to get around fuel cut, and you wont run your stock turbo over 15psi)

1. Gain similar amount of power (Up boost 3 psi with lex / 550's = 30 hp , tune fuel and up boost ~1psi with fuel comp = 20 - 50 hp, most people over 30 hp though)
2. Save fuel at WOT (which is where I am 1/4 of the time)
3. Gain Power across the whole powerband, not just on boost
4. Similar price for most people, but I did it much cheaper. My complete wideband was 240 canadian brand new (techedge DIY) and my hks afr was $100 us.
