Hey I was wondering if anyone's ever taken apart a stock O2 sensor. Is there anything inside the metal outside part (outside the exhaust stream) that would prevent me from bending it a bit? Any ceramic inside I should be careful not to break?

The reason I ask is because if I can bend the exterior part of the sensor about 1/4" away from my ABS pump I can avoid having to move the bung and scarring my nice SS 4" DP... I just don't want to break the sensor in the process.

TIA

Tony, I've never dismantled one, but I don't think that will work, I think you'll break the wiring.
I thought there was a pic on mkiv..couldn't find it..but here's one from google.

Thanks for the reply :bigok:

my situation looks complicated if they're all built like that. I'm gonna try and stop by a junk yard and pick one up and take it apart and see if the Toyota ones are like that as well. Hopefully not so I can just bend it a bit
