i've got a JDM set of twins on my motor , they have 55K miles on them .
1 month ago , the car was strong and helthy , turbos would build boost constantly up to 1.9 BAR if i desired .
soon after i converted to TTC , while i was working on the turbo side i have found that the #1 compressor has damage on the tips of it's blades , like something got sucked in and damaged it slightly.
i didn't care more as they boosted fine ! after TTC i couldn't see more than 1 bar of boost ! i tried everything with no luck . today i opened up my intake to find the same compressor with Double the damage!!! in excess of 5mm of each blade is broken ! shaft play is minimal .
What causes such a thing ? is this why i can't build more than 1 bar ?
mods are =>
Full TTC , including the removal of all the vsv's and actuators .
Exhaust , HKS Mega Flow Filter , Chipped and tuned ECU .
JDM ,97 model , 6 speed

so this is the reason behind the broken compressor wheel ?
if so .. will this limit my boost level ?

lol, dude NEVER run more than 1bar on stock japspec turbos, the turbines will shit themselves. Also sounds like you've had some crap get sucked into the compressor blades too.

1.9 bar is INSANE :)
i run mine at 14psi over 60mph
11psi 0-60

i've known peopple to run 16-18 for drag purposes.
I plan to run 16psi on strip but 14psi is amax for my daily.
I also plan on swapping out my jdm for uspec turbo setup.

Good luck

I don't think 1.5 bar is good even for the USDM metal turbined CT-12's. 1.9 is almost 28psi....HOLY BATCAVE BATMAN!!! That's alot of PSI for any turbo. What kind of fuel system are your running?!?

Is this post for real? I am even surprised you got them to 1.9bar for any period of time. I run 17-19 psi on mine and they are fine, no problems at all.

The pulls probably felt hard, but the power is not efficient AT ALL...You were probably just blowing hot air at that psi......
