hello supra forums! i have a jdm 2j that i plan on swapping into my s13 and have a few questions about cleaning up/simplifying the sock twins. ive tried searching but havent found exactly what im loolking for and was hoping you folks could help me out. i plan on upgrading to a single in a while but i just want to drop in the motor and get a feel for it as this will be my first turbo'd car.:fruit: im getting rid of the sequential setup and have already removed the exhaust butterfly and vacuum canister. i am trying to figure out what else i can get rid of? im going to run a ebc and external bov.

list o' questions
-what is this? can i remove the butterfly from it?

-since im running a bov can i remove and block off the bypass valve?

-which vsv's can i remove? some of them have been crushed in shippment.

any help would be appriciated!

Yes, what you can do is open that butterfly valve and take the flapper out. The only thing your going to have to do is weld or JB weld the small hole that will be in the pipe after you remove the actuator. If your going TTC then you can get rid of all of the VSVs.

like he said, get rid of all vsv.

and my butterfly pipe had the entire assembly chopped off with a piece of straight aluminum welded back onto it. not sure if i have a pic of it directly, i can try to find one that shows it

well, i got some work done on the motor so i figured id show what ive done.
-took the butterfly out, grinded the "bridge" that went across the opening, and welded everyting shut.

-removed the exhaust butterfly and plugged the opening.

planning on taking the air bypass valve off and welding it up tomorow.

thanks for the help guys!

great deal. there is a noticeable increase in spool and early on power when you remove those butterflys for the ttc purpose. they block nearly 15% of those pipes, being such a thick ceramic.
