I've been running the Big Aeromotive w/ their pump controller & FPR for over
4 years & it's time for a redo. Although it's working fine, I'm just not happy
w/ it for what ever reason. I'm going to swap to the Weldon FPR & stay w/ the
Aero pump controller. But Who's pump? This is a money is NO object affair.
I want the best pump for 100% street duty. (I drive this car alot 6/8 k a year)
I'm not a puss & DON'T CARE ABOUT NOISE!
The fuel system is set up for 1K HP in case I want to upgrade.
Current power is 550 @ 18psi & 700 @ 28.

Does anyone have the spec's or tried the Barry Grant King Sumo? There is no
spec's even on BG's site. Everyone says Weldon, but I'm concerned w/
reliability/ longevity on the street even w/ controller.

Post up w/ what ya got.

Thanks FTW, I've been following that one. I was going to post this Q there,
but it's a little more off topic from the original post of 1500 whp. Really I
didn't want to crap on his thread. I'm sure others would chime in with their
unrelated set ups.

Then hands down the ONLY fuel pump to go with. Weldon.

In your case probably a 2025 with controller. Good for both alkie and gasoline (if that really matters) and best of all it IS rebuildable! Myopinion though I would sell the Aeromotive controller wiuth the fuel pump and buy the 2025 + the dial a flow and be done with it

I had a Barry Grant King Sumo that i was going to use on a ATI procharged zz502 but sold the car before i used the pump. Its just sitting in my garage now...If i can remember correctly it will flow enough for 2000hp. I will try to find the install instructions for more accurate info as soon as i can.

+1 on the Weldon pump...but there is another one that is supposed to be just as good as the weldon and not sould like a jet engine taking off, ill have to look it up.

Figgie, seems to be the consensus to go w/ the weldon set up. I always
viewed them a full race company & am concerned if it can take the heat
of stop & go traffic even w/ controller.

Twins, thats the one I was looking at. It has alot of nice features & BG
has a bit more of a street/race rep. I saw a spec of 75psi w/ a (*) but no
foot note. If it's maxed out @ 75psi, I would be on edge @ high boost.

In essence guys I'm after reliability. I don't think twice about going 4 hours
from home & have better things to worry about than if the pumps going to
crap out. Granted everything breaks, thats why they make tow trucks.

well

i run a weldon 2345 plus a dial a flow and in stop and go traffic never had an issue. Also drive the car alot (15,000+ miles a year) and never had a vapor lock issue with the weldon turned down and this is this monster that flows like no other fuel pump short of the mechanical ones
