I am running in a 1000m sprint in october here in australia and I want to sort out what sort of tyres I should put on the soup. At the moment it is only BPU levels but if the stars align properly etc it should have a 67mm single on it by then and be pushing 500rwhp or so.

We can't use drag slicks and we can't do a burnout before we run so I am thinking MT et's ? or should i stick to street tyres?

I wouldn't trust a drag radial for the speeds you could reach in 1km. Some people have blown out et streets at the TX mile because of the prolonged speed (ie tires were designed for a 1/4 mile not .6 or a full mile). R888s seem to be the ticket for most in that situation.

R888's here and they are great for my 6765 on 24 lbs.

+1

I blew a MT ET street drag radial on the dyno at ~230 km/h.

As an alternative to r888's, I've been very happy with nt01's.
