Hello All,

Let me start with a thank you for stopping by and a little disclaimer: Yes, I researched!! and I've learned a lot too. However, after weeks of reading I am not waiting any longer to share my car frustrations with SF.

So, here we go.

The set up:

BL6776DBB for now (Billet 6765 is patiently waiting on the side lines)
VPC (B-chip) / AFC-neo / G-Force (Chipped for a single turbo, manual trans. set up, lean spot fixed, 8k rev. NO timing pulled)
HKS DLI
NGK 4644 (Gap .022)
HKS 264s
FJO Wideband with NTK sensor

Here is the issue.. During cold start the car will idle at around 900 RPM and the FJO will read around 10.8 to 11.1 for a few minutes. as it gets warmer the RPMs will increase to 1000 and the FJO reads around 13.9 to 14.3. Once it gets warm its were the problem idle starts.

Once the car is completely warmed up the idle fluctuate back and forth from 1000 RPM to 1100 RPM and the FJO would read 13.9 to 14.8 and everything else in between.

It should be noted that I previously set the idle at 1050 with the car fully warmed up.

As far as the VPC I've only messed with the gain and idle. And only small increments at a time. While doing so the FJO shows the adjustments, however, the problem idle still comes back.

For the AFC I've tried taking fuel from the 1000 RPM low throttle mark and no matter where I set it, same issue with the idle. For both VPC and AFC adjustments it appears that the ECU is trying to idle at 14.7 but something is "fighting" it.

any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated!!!

here are some vids:

Please feel free to dissect the videos and provide any unrelated suggestions...

Car at idle fully warmed up:

I dont know if its any help but I took the car for a spin:

During the drive the car fell on its face while coming to a stop, twice...

Thanks again,

Jose

ok just watched the video....that is kinda wierd, was that after making adjustments with the afc? My idle would jump sometimes but not like that, it was a "miss" at idle that was associated with the plugs.

Have you tested for vacuum leaks? And is your TPS Calibrated properly? I hope you didn't just turn the idle adjustment knob.....

Just for reference I had the exact same setup as you
BL 67
HKS 264's etc etc and it idled at 750rpm warm with a 14.7 a/f ratio. That is what yours should be too. If you want a higher idle you have to recalibrate your TPS.

Leave all of the knobs on VPC at the 12 o'clock position and only use the AFC to adjust the idle. Make sure your IAC is functioning correctly, TPS is calibrated, etc. and check for vacuum leaks. How much vacuum is it pulling at idle? There also is no reason to have your gap so low either unless your ignition system is not healthy.

Yeah, I originally had the spark plugs gapped at .019 and thought that, that was the problem so I replace them for new ones with a wider gap and still same problem. Thank you very much for your input!!!

^^^ Strange your sig
Sorry bro, you caught me! I liked it that much. If you want me to take it down I will. :-(

Well then, there it is!!!! Yes I have checked and re-checked for vacuum leaks. Did not know I had to calibrate the TPS. Will get on that ASAP and post back with results.

No I dont want the higher idle. However, I read that for the 1000cc injectors it is recommended to raise the idle, otherwise the injectors might start...dripping fuel???? So that's why I raised the idle with the idle adjustment screw.

Thanks a lot man!!

Thank you for being detailed! I will follow your instructions and post some results!!!

If you changed your idle then you need to recalibrate the TPS. If you didnt do that then thats the prob.
Sweet!!! I hope that's what it is.. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks.

Thanks to all of you for the help! I got a chance to work on the car today and tested the TPS, which ended up being faulty. So, I will order one ASAP and see if that takes care of the problem.
