Albert Diaz piloting the Stanley Souffrant tuned street class Supra by Tuner M runs a [email protected] on drag radials at the IDRC Maple Grove, this was done twice that day, once at 139mph and the other at 140mph. Congrats to both of my friends. BTW, this car was the ONLY street class car that was DRIVEN to the event, and back home(about 4hrs. each way), also as a note the car still has ALL, when I mean ALL of the weight that it came with (a little over 3700 pounds). This is an astonishing feat, hopefully we'll see 9's on drag radials before the end of the year) And yes, it does have a Level 10 Toyota tranny, NOT a domestic tranny!, I wonder how he liked the A/C on the way home(yes it still works), hehehe, later guys.

Damn nice times... what was his previous best before this?
WHO WON THE CLASS ?

Who won the Street Class ? anybody knows ??

John Shepherd in an AWD 92 Talon. He ran consistant 9.90's at over 147 mph on radials. Even though AWD no one else has done this.

ahhhhhhhhh

I guess the Street Class King is John Shepperd and his Eagle Talon...that talon has some CRAZY TOP END !!!!!

Very nice!
I was there.. It's a shame he didn't pull a good light. What shot of NOS was he running?
Hrmmm

I believe i have seen numerous times John Shepperd's car, still FULL Interior, its his choice not to drive it...he lives kind of far, i wouldnt drive it either if i have a trailer, there is NO NEED, street class= street cars = with street tires, NO EXCUSES !

This is true, I help John with his Talon, and he still drives the thing to work most days. Not to take anything away from an almost 9 sec supra on radials regardless of power or weight, it's tough to get enough traction in a rear drive (especially a heavy car) to go that quick. Very impressive.

Congratulations are definately in order. No one else has even come close (that I know of).

That is a great time....but I gotta send a big F-you to Albert Diaz. He's the fucker that sold me my current Supra. The Supra that spend weeks and weeks at Bullish Racing this Summer fixing all the fucked up shit that I couldn't see or tell was wrong. It ran fine when I test drove...and drove it home..then slowly it start falling apart - and Bullish found a TON of stuff wrong with it...stuff I had no idea was wrong. I can provide a list of stuff Bullish had to fix. I even called a lawyer - however, the case would be very difficult to prove...even with Ara's testimony.

If anyone doesn't believe me - call Bullish Racing at: 201-342-0449

Granted the engine is 110% now - fully built and prepped by Bullish....but....come on....yeah, maybe I should have known better...but I didn't deserve to be lied to.

Talk to Ara, Kevin or George. Ask Albert why Ara wouldn't let him park his Supra at the Bullish trailer...this is why.

Did anyone else see any Supra's running in the Street Class at the IDRC event? I heard that there was another MKIV that pulled a 10 flat on drag radials. Can anyone that was at the event shed back that up?

10.14 @ 140mph w/1.74 60ft WOW!

Yes Albert Diaz's supra is very impressive...If the times alone aren't impressive enough, this supra made these times using a stock motor with only 23lbs. of boost and a 100 shot of nos!!!!
The 10.14 run was accomplished with a 1.74 60ft. and letting off at the top because the car hit the rev limiter and he did not want to shift to O/D...
This is Albert's only car that he drives to work EVERYDAY and to the race events and it weighs 3780lbs. with the driver!

Needless to say this car has more in it!!!!! STAY TUNED!!!!

I knew it was from SP, if its fast with an auto it usually is;). Actually I was just wondering if anyone saw the pass and could comment on it, possibly a video. It isn't really common to see a car pull a 10 at only 100 or so. Do you know what the 60' and 1/8 were by any chance?

I had a 6.07 @ 116.8 1/8mi. 1.57 60'ft. I lost the #3 cylinder at the 1/8 mi mark, so I coasted to a 10.0 @ 101. after taking it apart I realised that there were some issues with the fuel jet and lines going into the #3 nozzle. Motor will be back in by Monday and I will be attending the Nov IDRC race in Texas.

That's what it seems like, I LOVE the BFG DR's. You gotta love a radial that wrinkles its sidewalls. I'm gonna be ready for Texas!

Are you using an SP66? About how much mph do you think that you could gain in the last 1/8th?

I think its time for JV to make a few more passes with the SP01, you guys can't loose your record to a customer on drag radials now can you.:D Later.
