Ran a guy this weekend in a white 300zx TT. Said he had intake, exhaust, & a chip. From 40- over a 100 I was at the end of 4th when I let off.... very close. I was spinning pretty bad need new tires. But I had started to pull and he was at my door starting to fall back when I let off. I can't wait to get my boost controller in. I'm getting a max air box to so that might squeeze out a few more hp, He said he had dyno'd right at 350rwhp when he got the chip. He told me the chip gave him like 60hp so if that's true that's a damn good mod. Oh my car is a 94 TT supra, intake, full exhaust from dp, and front mount.

Nice kill Cody...gotta respect the Z32. I'd like to run you in my Z :). I'm waiting for my buddy to grow some cahunas and drive one of my cars so we can do an accurate Z vs. Supra run. I'll let you know when this happens. Sounds like your BPU setup still has some more left in it, where mine is pretty much maxed out.

Ya I've got the boost controller I need to get put on. Then the max air box from mvp. I'd also like to get a s-afc and do some tuning on a dyno. But I'm pretty happy with the way it's running now. I'm sure down the road I'll go single or upgrade the twins.

I was thinking about that but I'm guessing I'm running at least 14 psi with the mods I have and no control so if I bump it up to 18 or 19 that's not that big of a gain maybe 30whp

Since i have both you would be suprise what those little z32 guys been up to lately.

"little," hahahaha. There is a lot more aftermarket going into these cars, and there are more and more big power beasts popping up around.

What the hell took them so long. Back in the day I wanted a 300zx but I went away from them because I heard they were so hard and expensive to work on.

Big 2nd. The typical bpu or "stage 4" Z32 is about equal to a bpu supra.
Good kill btw. That's always a fun race :sadance: :sadance:

ROFL Sure man. When I see Z32s easily trapping over 120 on stock turbos, then we can talk (because thats still not as fast as some BPU Supras).

Damn, I was looking for a good laugh tonight before I went to sleep! Thanks for that!!!

I dont know about "easily", but there are Z32s trapping over 120 on the stock turbos, 125MPH is the highest i've seen with the stockers...

?lol?
Quite a few Z's are popping over 120 now on stockers... It's not a new thing.
I have no problem keeping up with bpu or bpu+ supras until about 125-130ish - in fact in most cases I lead them to that point by a car or 2. And I'm still on stock IC's, injectors, and turbos. Granted they may be on pump and not be running 20 psi and on race gas, but I am always on pump too... Gotta remember, I'm not just talking about highway runs, so keep that in mind. Most Z32's of similier mods pull away down low sometimes by a couple car lengths on a Supra which is in my mind "quicker" and the Supra is just keeping up. :1poke: Upon which around 120-130 the supra tends to pass by on it's merry way to 200. The modifications for the z have come a long way and I think you would be suprised how much better they are to mod now days (not better lb. for lb. with a supra, but comon, they just finally came out with a realy good exhaust manifold, 16 years later?) I'll be the first to say a Supra is "faster" meaning can get to 180mph in less time, but dont forget the 0-120. The times are looking very similier now. I try to stay researched up on both cars but I believe they are both beautifully designed in and out. :sadance:

Thats about right the Z is stage III and the HP numbers is pretty close. This is just the basic bolt-ons on the Z. Most Z owners stop at this level because once you get pass stage VI you need bigger turbos, intercooler, injectors, tunning etc...etc... :) The aftermarkets on the 300ZX is growing. We are now seeing streetable 300ZX TT with 1000+RWHP.

Yes, the Z's are def. catching up with the Supras, so WATCH OUT, hahaha!!!! The main complaint for the Z's is not potential, but the fact they are so hard to work on and expensive to modify (you need TWO of everything), and the aftermarket is not as good as the Supra (but it is getting much better than 5 years ago).

nice run. The Z market is growing and it's easier to get big numbers out of them. My old 93TT had the basic bolts-ons with a fmic, full exhaust, boost controller, and JWT re-flash. Made upper 300s at 18psi. Definately capable cars but they are a pain to work on. haha

Comparing the Z31 to the MK3 supras, the Z31 always did get the hop on me no matter how well I launched. Even with my best launch, he was still ahead by 1/4 car. Eventually I would catch up and past him around 60-80 mph though... might be gearing related IMO or perhaps the nature of the engine.

I have owned 3 z32's and 4 supras and I have to say that I like both of them but the Z32 cost a whole lot more to upgrade. You have to buy 2 of everything which was mentioned above but the 95 Z TT I had was still fun even though I invested nearly 15K to make it fun to drive and I only invested like not even 2500 bucks for the Supra TT. I have a pic of my Z TT that I used to own and a pic of the 95 Supra below.

one of my corpsman drives a Z that has HKS2530, JWT ecu, HKS exhaust, JWT pop charger, HKS side mounts, bigger injectors, Boost controller, upgraded clutch. I saw him ran a Viper on the way home ( I was on my R1) and he beat the viper pretty bad.

I love those turbos...They are perfect for a streetable high HP car.

There's a guy making 781 RWHP with an impressive 782 RWTQ with those turbos on his Z32 tuned with AEM...I remember a couple of years ago, the max you could get out of those turbos was around 600 RWHP...Even Skylines are not close to the numbers that Z's are getting now with those turbos.

Nice^^^^^. Yes, the Z's indeed have come a LOOOOONG way. If any of you read my comparison analysis I made of the two cars, I actually like driving the Z better. I'm so honored to have both cars. Heres a few pic....
