Raced my buddy's Z. He currently has a stock long block and Greddy TT kit. We installed the kit last winter. His car was tuned by Ray @ PF SuperCars~ 380 whp on map 3 and 430 whp on his "kill map" #5 on a dynojet.
My car has the mods in my sig below. It's kinda tuned, but not really lol. I dynoed 420 whp @ 15-16 psi last weekend on a mustang dyno. Running pig rich, can probably use more timing.
Anyways, let's Torrentino this story. About three months ago, I got kinda tuned by Brian Doyle (chevyeater-on-sf). We were having a lot of problems with the ecu connecting to the computer, couldn't log, etc. So he tuned me VERY conservatively~ barely any timing, and pig rich fuel. It ran well~ dynoed around 400whp on a dynojet.
A couple weeks go by, and my buddy and I went from a 40 roll. I started in second. Three honks and we were off... I stayed with him in second but once he shifted into 3rd we just started pulling away. This was on his DD map of 380whp.
So in the past couple months, Beau, a member here and a good friend, tuned the car a little bit to what it is now. All this time, I didn't tell my 350Z buddy how much I was making or how much my butt dyno was feeling...
Tonight:
1st run: 60 roll. I was in third, he was on his 380 whp map. Barely any brake boost. We both gun it the same time, and I pulled right from the get-go. It was a pretty good victory by about 100 (slowed down because of a narrow, twisty section of the highway)
2nd run: 40 roll. He switched to his kill map~ 430 whp. I was brake boosting hard in 2nd gear. We gunned it at the same time, and by the top of second, I was ahead by a car. By 120ish, he was a few cars back.
Supra victory... for now. Beau did a good job waking up my car lol. After his losses, he is more motivated to get his built block by this winter and shooting for 700+whp... I'm gonna be tuning for meth with chevyeater soon, so I should be ~ 550ish or so. Next year the victory will probably go to him...
Cliffs: kinda-tuned Supra beats 430 whp 350Z
