Yeah, hook-up is the same. The difference is the features between the two map ecu.

 

yeah i took a look at the 2nd wiring harness and thats all just ingnition

funny that the distributor setup requires only one wire

I am running a:

PT61 Turbo kit from DaveH
Stock injectors
NGK spark plugs
DaveH intake manifold
AEM wideband

but i still have alot of questions regarding the install.....i might make a new thread in the MKIV section or something

 

if the map ecu tuning on the obd1 turns out to be a pain in the ass, i've got an obd2 auto ecu out my 97 for sale. $40

 

you cant just swap in a new ODB2 ECU.....well that is what I am told

FYI theres A DIY thats shows exactly what you gotta do just look, it requires some stuff o2 sims, obd2 diagnosis ports, etc. and rewiring some stuff

Also for the o2 sim, can't I just splice the wires and connect them to one o2 sensor?

 

I though it would but I'm not 100%, Problem is I dont think anyone whos na tried it. The question Im struggling with is how do you go about upgrading for a 5-speed tranny I think whats needed heere is some more R&D

I'd like to know the more about tt obd1 as opposed to na obd1, I though they where the same plus the tranny issue. Good luck with the unit, I know I've harsh on it, It does work, but I'm just not happy with the tune, youll soon see what I mean

Yeah thats what I heard, it just needs a bit of tuning

i have a on board dyno tool, A/R meter and the map ecu and a computer so I will be fine

Instead of going OBDII and all the head aches with that i just go AEM
