Just woundering how much horsepower i can expect to get...

Please list your Specs of tuning and how much rwhp and engine power you make.
Or if you had the T78 setup, how much did you make back then, and what parts did you have ?

Im gonna get my car Dynoed soon, here is the list of my parts:

Euro Spec MKIV -93
6-Speed

Greddy T78 Turbo Kit
Greddy 3" FMIC
Greddy Type-R Bov (stiff spring)
BL 780cc Fuel
HKS F-Con V Pro Gold v3.1
HKS 4" Ti Exhaust
HKS EVC 5
TRD Twin Plate Clutch
NGK 6097 Spark Plugs

21 PSI (1,4 bar)

Just curious how much you guys make in rwhp, and whats your boost set at ?
About how much rwhp should i expect ?
Internal of the Engine is stock so far.

When I had the T78 in my car on my 6 speed. I also had


Blitz LM 3.75" FMIC
HKS Blow Off Vakve
Greddy 780cc Fuel
VPC with Emanage
HKS 3.75" Exhaust
HKS EVC 4
Titan Street Intake Manifold
RPS Single Stage 3
NGK 6097 Spark

It made 495whp on 16.5psi on a dynapack. I never dynoed it for more boost with that setup.

At 21psi, I would guess between 550rwhp and 590rwhp? I never went past 14psi with my T78 when I had it a LOOOONG time ago :)

With a STOCK fuel system, blended race gas, VPC tuning, and ~17psi, a t78 can do 500rwhp.

So with a fuel system, and depending on whether this'll be on pump or race gas, @ 21 psi, 550rwhp should be faily obtainable. With the right tuning, and a little more boost, you could be pushing 600rwhp. :coold:

There was a T78 equipped Supra on t04r.com - and I beleive the requirement is 700 crank horsepower for that, so check that out as well.


But remember, the tuning can make, or break the power levels. :)

You'll want cams. Without cams at 21psi you'll make around 530-540rwhp. At 29psi with 272 cams I made 783rwhp. The key is boost and cams.

I used to run a T78 with mildly ported head, Ferrea valvetrain with stock size valves, 264 cams, AEM, Greddy 4-row, custom 4" dp/mp with HKS Ti, full fuel system and all the supporting mods, etc etc... As Chris Bergemann said, the cams make a huge difference. I made 59X whp SAE corrected on my base boost of 19 PSI. I don't have my dyno sheets in front of me right now so I don't remember exactly what it made at higher boost levels, somewhere in the low-middle 700s whp range.. At one point we put VP Import in the car, pulled the wastegate hose, and hooked up my nitrous kit (it was either 125 or 150 shot, dont recall exactly) and it made just over 880 whp SAE corrected...

Pump gas/15psi/ @500 rwhp
Race gas/18-19psi/ @600 rwhp (boost controller issues, should have ran with pump gas)

I'll be hitting the dyno again soon for a solid pump tune and turn up the boost for a race gas tune.

With stock cams & 30psi boost, I trapped close to 136mph in the 1/4 mile. At 3650lb with me in it, this equates to ~710 rwhp.

I was runnning AEM with HKS DLI. I had Ti retainers and HD springs with stock shortblock. This was done on pump gas with conservative timing. However, Justin Neni did say that my car always was a bit stronger than others he had tuned. For example, my car now has built head with 1mm oversized ferreas, built bottm end wit hall the goodies and I am putting out 809 rwhp on 28-29lbs. Justin mentioned that it is possible to get 850 with 31lbs. This would be more than most I have seen on a 71GTS. We did not push the clutch more than 28-29 lbs because it was new and was slipping.

I made 470rwhp @ 17psi with my old Greddy T78. This was on stock ECU with no piggy back, stock fuel and stock MAF.
I've got this same turbo (thanks AL5DSM) and I'm running right at 14psi w/ same as he has listed but w/ new 264's and HKS headgasket.... I didnt think it would be to safe to go any higher in boost w/ stock MAF and ECU.... What was your A/F ratio sticking at WOT al5dsm? I hope I can go to the dyno for sure, but I havent confirmed my appointment yet... but i bet the little honda guys that run it wont mind dropping what their doing to strap a Supra to their dyno lol... damn locals

I didnt realize people were making these kind of HP levels at such low boost.
The T78 is a 67mm correct ?

Last November, Justin Nenni tuned my car to 510whp at 18psi and
650whp/600wtq at 28psi. Mods are:
Completely stock motor with 120K miles
AEM ECU and HKS DLI
Stock intake mani.
Greddy 4row
3in. DP/MP to 4" Boost Logic exhaust
Greddy Type R BOV and Greddy wastegate
Denso BKR7E spark plugs gapped at .025"

I'd like an HKS DLI as well.... I will see what I dyno next saturday as my appointment is setup!
