My tach quite working on me about a year after engine swap. Then about a year after that the whole car shut down on my wife in a tunnel on the PA turnpike. What a day. But anyhow I towed the car home and checked it out and it turned out the wiring harness fell down on the EGR tube and shorted the tach wire out then shorted the harness out and blew the fuse. Just something for you to look at.
yes its an 87, and the engine/trans/wireharness. came out of an 88 (didnt buy the engine, doin this for a friend) so it isnt a jdm unfortunatly the gauge is from an 89. i know it noremaly doesnt work to swap from an 87-89+ but i tried. could that be the problem? yea everythings right year except the gauge cluster right now.
