i did a 7mgte swap into a manual non turbo 87. the temp gauge/oil pressure gauge dont work either. but my main concern right now is the tach. any help?

you need a tach from a turbo car. or just pick up a guage cluster

read the wireing diagram find out were they are conected chances are there all bad at the same spot

i am using the turbo cluster currently. and still nothin.

My tach quite working on me about a year after engine swap. Then about a year after that the whole car shut down on my wife in a tunnel on the PA turnpike. What a day. But anyhow I towed the car home and checked it out and it turned out the wiring harness fell down on the EGR tube and shorted the tach wire out then shorted the harness out and blew the fuse. Just something for you to look at.

the cars a 87 what year is the cluster. any chance its a jdm motor with a jdm oil pressure sending unit? do you have the right year temp sensors?

yes its an 87, and the engine/trans/wireharness. came out of an 88 (didnt buy the engine, doin this for a friend) so it isnt a jdm unfortunatly the gauge is from an 89. i know it noremaly doesnt work to swap from an 87-89+ but i tried. could that be the problem? yea everythings right year except the gauge cluster right now.
