That RPS Manifold Sound

My experience with T4 divided turbine housing on a non-divided manifold is the inner section of the turbine housing will start to droop and warp from the heat. I've had to replace my turbine housing a few times already. I'm considering welding on a V-band and switching to a vband turbo if I can find a small one. You will get better throttle response / spool between gear changes on a divided manifold with a divided turbine, so you lose that improvement with vband.

I've always seen Vband as merely convenience of installation and disassembly.

Twin Scroll has all the advantages other than cost.

Haha, we are! I'm in the process of getting the twins off on my days off. Most of the nuts are off so it's not far off.

As soon as they're off the mani and turbo will go on so I can look at what adjustments need to be made to my downpipe, then mock up the recirc wastegates and IC pipes.

Should have it back up and running by May.

nice...you're definitely going to beat me to it. My car is running and driving at the moment and I would hate to decommission it at this time of year for a turbo install, were on the verge of spring. I'll probably do mine this upcoming winter.

Get me some sound clips when you got it all together...should hold me thru the winter! :D

Yeah, I hear you. The weather in the UK doesn't really pick up until May so that's really the deadline for me.

I would have been tempted to push it back to this winter, but my twins really needed retiring.

Will get some sound clips for sure. 👍😁

Same boat here, I'm in a mad rush to get everything lined up by this Summer, would hate to have it down and miss the nice weather.

I hear that buddy. I'm already missing mine. I really hope the Link ECU doesn't hold me up as it's been on back order for months already.

Oooff.

Getting those twins off is a job I never want to do again. 😅

Check out the SRD titanium manifold stud & nut kit with the FF manifold. 😍

We're only on there temporary to get the downpipe and IC pipes mocked up, but it does give me a big boost in motivation just seeing it hooked up. 😎
