Well gents,

I think its time to post up the progress of my build. First things first, I want to thank Mike, Mark, and the rest of the Black Label Performance (BLP) family for looking after the car for as long as they have, and dealing with all the crap that goes along with it; without those guys coming together as well as they did, none of this could have been possible. I also want to thank all of the forum sponsors (MVP, PHR, Titan, BL, Elmhurst, everyone) for being so patient and extremely helpful with getting all the parts together to make everything possible. Without the cooperation from everyone, none of what your about to see could have been possible. Some how, what your about to see is something that started out very straight forward, and ended up being the Standard for any Full Frame-Off MKIV Supra restoration for any future builder. If you have been looking how to FULLY RESTORE your supra to Brand New... YOU FOUND IT!

A very long and robust story short...
I purchased this car from a member a couple years ago when she still had the stock twins. After putting about 500 miles on her, the #2 turbo blew, causing some major damage to the motor, and everything else you could possibly imagine in a negative way happened, almost all at once. It was very frustrating, especially with the high op-tempo of my job and hardly ever getting to see my pride and joy. Im almost always deployed. But anyways... enough b/s, onto the build... All props go to the Black Label Performance family!

No corners were cut, no expense spared, every bell and whistle you can think of is being done to her, and more. After selling my 97 Alpine Supra, I started to finish up the funding element of this build. And now, here is a small list of the major components I have going in her... im not going to list everything, just imagine every single piece of the car being replaced with something better.

Well, as you can see, she is getting rebuilt from the ground up. Everything you see thats getting ripped out of the car, is getting replaced with brand new stuff, literally everything, well except for the dash and probably the steering wheel for now. These crazy bastards ripped the car apart in less than 48 hours. They started the tear down last Friday evening, and had it naked by last Sunday evening. Sheer insanity IMO. The car is at the paint and body shop right now... Next major date is April 1st, which is when its scheduled to be done and ready for assembly! There is a ton of work to be done to her, the guys at BLP are shooting for a completion date of mid April/first part of May. I should be home around end of May or June sometime.

GOALS: Whatever she makes at 26psi, and a brand new Supra... yep, that pretty much sums it up.

Ill be updating the above threads as I can get pics to work, photobucket is being an ass clown right now.

Hope you enjoy :)

I wanna do the same to mine but it's so much work. I'm scared the interior won't sit the same if I do. I give you props for all the work. I'm half way down my tear down.

I'll probably go all out on exterior and only the carpet and dash on interior. I had a bad experience with an eclipse back in the day. The heater never worked after I put it together. Lol

Doing it Right... Very Nice.
Agreed. Nothing like the feeling of having a brand new car again (at least I can only imagine the feeling :D) I am slowing working on bringing my interior up to "new" status again, mainly by restoration instead of replacement though (since I don't have much free income to spend lol)

Wow, this is definitely a built I'm going to follow. I would shave/smooth the engine bay and do a nice wiretuck if I were you.
Can't wait to see this when it's finished, especially when it's going to be RSP :)

Subscribed. I am very interested to see the finished product, but why get rid of the 97 apline? I would think that would be the keeper.
Well yes, many lessons learned here. My (ex) wife told me I couldn't have 2 Supras (BIG MISTAKE!!! lol), so I sold the 97 (which was NA, to save up for this build) and we got a divorce shortly after. There is just some things in this world you dont get in between, and she made it clear that she hated my cars (which I had before her), so the cars started making me hate her. Its a sickness, I know. So now I only have this pretty lady to concentrate on :) for now, until the next build lol.

crazy bastard! are you sure paint will be done by april1st and ready to be reassembled?? or are you just fooling us

either way, cant wait to see!
haha hell yea man, The body shop said that as long as they got it into him on time, that he would have it done right around the first of April, give or take a couple days of course.

Most definitely. It takes alot of work and can be done without new parts but can sometimes be a real pain. I guess I took the easy way out with this one lol Your car is badass man.

that is a nice garage :) how in the world do you remember where everything goes when you put it back together??? i mean its stripped to the bone! very nice btw!
Man I ask myself that question all the time. BLP has basically shut their doors for the next month or so and are solely concentrated on this build, They are still trying to organize all of the new stuff going in lol. I can only imagine the mess right now.

Where are you in CO??? Im from the Springs.

What are you doing with all the old stuff? :) :)
I have a thread in the F/S section :)

Absolutely. The engine bay is going to be very reflective, to say the least ;)

All in all, thanks for all the positive comments guys, it is very much appreciated. Im a dumb mofo for spending the amount of money that has been dumped into her, but hey, Toyota wont make us any new Supras, so I guess this is what we have to do nowadays to get what we want. I just got so sick and tired of finding new things that were wrong with her, and couldn't stand it any longer. So I figured if we do this, that there would no longer be any issues. Mike and Mark Gibson (BLP), who is building her and doing all the tuning, actually grew up with John Reed back in their high school days. So there is a very long line of original tuners working on her. I am extremely confident with Mike and Mark's ability to do this and make the deadlines. The best of the best.

Thanks again gents, all comments/questions are welcomed, Ill keep you guys updated on the progress. Mike and Mark will be stopping by the body shop every now and then to get updates, and mabe some teaser pics ;)
