I have gone over all of my 23 time slips, and traced which modifications were done for which runs, and i have compiled some information to give you a general idea of how your NA supra should be performing at the track with modifications. The items in bold are the mods added from one set of runs to the next.

XDREAMER, RWSUPRA and I are all autos. Stock for stock a 5sp is between .8 and 1.2 seconds faster than an auto, depending on the driver.

so with all our mods, theoretically if a 5 speed responds as well to the mods, it would put it between a 13.8 and 14.2( i am basing this off of xdreamers video recorded run of 14.87)...of course, no one has tried on a 5spd and everyone will say this is BS b/c its never been done.

XDREAMER has taken a second and a half off of his times, I have taken a second off of mine, and RWsupra and taken .5 seconds off his time.

ATTN XDREAMER:
can you please list the rest of your mods...i dont see coolant bypass and im almost 100% sure u had that done , but i dont want to list it for you until im completely sure. i know you had the header for the 14.87 run, i remember that coming up in discussion back then so i put that on there...what else did you have done...? list even the small things like the MAF modded and upside down and any other tricks(tranny?) i dont know of so people can get a real look at what we all have done. can you list all your weight reduction too? as you do, i'll add it in to the main post, so its all in the same format, and we can condense the thread.

PS. what about those new timeslips? might as well list em on here even if you dont think your car was running 100%. mines not running perfect but im listing everything anyway. its up to you though


RWsupra: do you have a cone filter or a drop in panel filter?

Wow nice =) so theoretically I could trap a 15 stock?

15.2 @92 is genrally accepted as stock.

people have gone as low as 14.9, but it is extremely rare, and i dont know if that is US or Jap spec NA. a few people hit 15.0 and 15.1, most people hit 15.2-15.4

some NA autos have gone as slow as 16.4 and 16.5 stock so thats why i said 1.2 seconds slower...still puts your around a 15.2...but if u can drive, its possible to go lower.

sounds good, get a cone filter to go with that box.

start a thread up like this one, but for 5 speeds, traces your mods as you go, and then PM a moderator and ask to get it stickied.....its nice to have solid info...maybe more people will start modding NA supras once they see the potential gains.

Iamthebull...not saying you're fullofbull, but 97mph in a stock '91 Taurus SHO?

while 97 seems a bit excessive....my friend ran a 15.4 @92.6 or something, on the day he bought it, just dumping the clutch from 3k. ive ridden with him since then and now he basically just kicks the clucth and shifts much harder and faster than when he ran that.

i can see him hitting a 15.0 at 95 or so.

problem is getting high revs off the line in my opinion...2200 stall hurts. this is auto though...the auto is a full second slower than a stock manual.

i bet i could run in the 15's just with my intake filter. i bet i could hit 15.9 stock. sorry guys, you guys must not know how to run autos. I am fairly new to autos and just he other day i hit my sweet spot. I had a neon that ran 15.5 and this is feeling close to it. I know autos aren't complicated to drive, hit the gas and go. But shifting in manu-mode at the right time, pre-start powerbrake rev, and proper prep. This wasn't to dawg anyone, i just don't believe a na, even auto, could run 16's. I know this prelude (with time slip) running around 16.1 and i beat him stock with room to spare. Does anyone feel the same as i do?

i dont mean to sound like an ass...but go run it and then post up your timeslip. its the only way you can be totally sure. What a car runs on the track and on the street are two totally different things. I have had more practice since then, and i DID crack a 15.9 using manu. the exhaust may have been a negative gain, I will find that out this staurday.

I have no clue about what stipping will do to your times. Every run I've made has been full weight. except for a spare tire occasionally. and i have to carry 10lb piece of board in my trunk, b/c its the only way i can get a jack under the car with my sideskirts on.

from personaly experience, I'd say your exhaust is too big...it will make top end hp, but your missing out on a more streetable fun. I WILL let u knows know after i dyno on friday the result of 3.75 inch piping compared to 3 inch piping(have 3 inch now thanks god) and a trip to the track soemone in the next month or so.

14.5 i doubt it, check my mods for a 15.2.... thats why i went smaller exhaust. the lack of midrange torque to get you to your top end power is very evident(and hp hasnt really started building yet) when you hit third gear on the track. i kept finding myself htinkin, if only i could get through this low spot to where i start revving i would improve my times nicely. smaller exhaust move your powerband to the left, at the sacrafice of a few hp top end...so we shall see shortly. saturday is only 2 days away...


A mack:not really sure....16.5-16.8 is a guesstimate..?

i ran 15.139 and this was what i had

K&N air filter
no headlight
3 inch custom mid pipe
and gutted secondary cat
stock exhaust

now i just got 3 inch piping from the mid pipe all the way to the HKS 3 inch ultra performance universal stainless steel muffler.
custom intake 3 inch piping (got rid of the accordian intake pipe), wrapped in thermo tec cool tape. and heat wrapped mid pipe, secondary pipe, and catback and MAN!!! i feel a big difference.

i wonder if ill hit 14's i think so... im going to LACR soon.. ill post my results here.

future plans are 264 hks intake bump stick, hks cam gears, and SAFCII.

I'm done racing until the turbo kit goes on...but I couldve gotten it down further, I had my had the mid-pipe on then, and I think I'm faster w/o it. (I already have header/catback...it was too much flow so it hurt my low end)

got any times or time slips to back up the claim on hp?
