I hope the thread title was cheesy enough :D

**This thread will be updated as I make progress through the build, I have so much to do that updates should be rather frequent as we get started, between work/family that is.**

Well after a long summer of outdoor fun, family time, and mostly sitting on my ass playing games and drinking beer I figured I should finally start my build thread to keep me motivated. It might also help me keep track of everything vs. having all the little details of my entire build floating in my head every day. Also this forum is far from it's glory days, just pitching in to help keep things fresh/alive!

Brief Background:
This is my second MKIV after regrettably selling my previous 93 hardtop due to moving into a house and having to free up some coin. This build was supposed to happen to my last MKIV, not sure if anyone remembers it but I had a thread covering it here (I'll have to re-host the pics some other time):
**** http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?751577-My-vinyl-wrapped-93-Hardtop-)-*PIC-HEAVY*&highlight= **** It was a 93 NA Auto RR w/ 104,000 miles that I got through a trade from a very good friend (traded my 350z for his NA auto MKIV.) The paint was rough so I immediately vinyl wrapped it gloss black and freshened up with 98 headlights/taillights, RMM style front lip, Evo 8 Recaros and HKS carbon TI. I ended up selling that car to a local kid for $14,000 the day before I got married actually (Aug 2015), this was right before the supra market took a huge upswing so NA Autos were going for 10-15k on average at the time. Fast forward through a long, painful winter without something to work on other than my Tundra......I bought this 94 TT auto w/72,000 miles (Fully BPU) from a member here (Zupra94TT) Feb 2016. It was very well kept/clean and the car made 402whp/393tq untuned at sea level, it felt very good at the time though I knew whatever I bought wouldn't stay stock/BPU for too long. My wife and I flew down to Naples FL on a Friday, picked up the car and spent the day on the beach, then drove 1900+ miles back to Albuquerque NM. Big thanks to Joe (Zupra94TT) for getting the car ready for the trip, it drove like a dream as we boosted across the U.S.! Link to my thread when I first bought it here: ****
http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?988313-Found-my-keeper-94-TT-Auto-72-XXX-miles.&highlight= **** Anyway, I've been lurking in the supra scene well before I could drive, long before I made my account in 2005, and used this platform as motivation through middle school, high school, my 6 year AF enlistment, and during my 2.5 year OJT here in the world of Air Traffic Control (Anyone in aviation say what's up!!). Now that all of that is behind me, I figure it's time to dig deep into the things I love....the supra being one of the most cherished for me.

I've collected pretty much an entire build over the years, never really getting down and dirty with anything until the time was right but I'm tired of waiting. My build isn't going to be anything one off just yet, just simple/clean/modest is the goal for now, but later on I'm sure I'll be able to get more creative with it. On to the nitty gritty, below is a parts list of mostly everything I have waiting to either be worked on, sold/swapped out, cleaned up and powdercoated/painted, or ready to go in the car.

Onto some pictures to catch us up to where I am now

The day I bought the car and a few pics during our trip back home

The hotel was pretty damn packed that night in Tallahassee, though the host was kind enough to let me park next to the entrance

It was a few years since I had felt any kind of boost, reaction in the relfection on the boost guague :D

Of course my wife had to have a little fun too, tire's spinning as she merged onto the freeway lol

After making it to home to Albuquerque, it wasn't even one day until I hunted down the guy that I sold my old car to, and traded him my headlights/taillights that came with the car for my 97/98 heads/tails that I left on the previous car when I sold it. He was looking to sell that car at the time so I HAD to get these back!

And just a few pics of the car before I bought it, on top of just hanging out with it for the remainder of that year.

With some car buddies at work

This was at a local event (All Out Call Out/Desert Fest weekend, summer 2016) and some guy I don't know snapped a few pics and found me on facebook via the event page lol. Either way I figured I'd post them

The first one only time I took the targa off, because the wife wanted to cruise to the casino that way

Teardown

Instead of posting the 3587389573 pictures I have, I'll try to just post a few to save you guys from watching a goofy looking dude tear down his supra.

Last time we see the engine bay like this

Can't wait til I buy a house and build the shop with a lift I've been dreaming of, til then lets just pray I don't get crushed

Goofing mid tear down with the wife

Wife helping me fish the engine harness through the firewall, this woman is too good to me lol

Just about ready to come out

almost.....there......!!!!

Aahhhh, there we go

I had to post this cause I never knew it was there. It was really cool finding a little Toyoda easter egg on the crossmember!

Well, she's been sitting like this since March this year, I took quite a break during late spring through summer. Now that it's fall and things are starting to cool off I'm back in the garage. I tore down the stock motor and grabbed all the stuff I need from it, which wasn't much because I had a spare block from years ago (the one that is now built). I just continued to tear down the engine bay, getting it ready for paint, which I will be doing myself. I'm pretty excited to learn to paint, and figure the engine bay is a good place to tackle my first painting project between all the prep needed and it being under the hood. I will practice on some random things before I hit the bay though. I will cover that later when I end up buying a compressor and all the stuff I need.

Condition of the carpet before I removed it

While tearing down the interior to prep for tunnel swap, seems like a couple mice decided to throw a party under my carpet......ugh. I found heaps of bird feed under there

I got all of that clean up and started chipping away the stock deadening material to find the spot welds I need to drill out

I drilled out 90% of the spot welds, and that's where I am today on the tunnel swap, more to follow on that.

I'm going to be honest and say I had a scare earlier this year, after talking with Tuan (Biologist) I realized I might have let my block sit a bit too long, though it was well oiled and wrapped up very well. So I had to get peace of mind and inspect it to make sure the assembly lube didn't dry/crust up, just a few pictures of that.

Thank fucking god! whew lol, the mains look tip top shape.

I relubed everything and torqued back to spec.

I don't have the pictures of all the work I did to the head, but I do have one showing post shimless bucket install

Randomly thrown in, but AP oil squirter blocks

Well that pretty much brings us up to speed to where the car sits now, I've got a lot going on at once and just hope to get organized, tackle one thing at a time, and document it.

As for now I'm waiting on a rear mail seal to get here along with a few gaskets so I can get the built motor together, and just doing the tunnel swap and carpet dye for now on top of cleaning a bunch of parts. I'll post back up soon, but for now I have to head off to work!

Thanks fellas! I may edit the thread just a bit later on, I had to rush off to work earlier.

Nice, what did you use to host pics?
I used Flickr only because we've been having issues with photobucket lately. To my surprise it forces you to make a yahoo account to use Flickr, otherwise it's not too bad.

About time Richard. Glad you finally made a build thread! Let’s try to make it to SIV!
Glad I did too Tuan, hopefully this will keep me on track a bit better lol. For sure man, I usually prioritize getting time off for TX2K, but next year I'm making SIV the priority. AP block crew gotta represent! ;)

Sick build. I heard you also did a fuse box relocation? Can you please share us our secrets.
LOL! About that Roy....ehem....we'll get to that later in the thread :nervous:

Looking good. I hope you stick with it and get her finished. It will be a very nice car.
What's up Joe. I WILL be sticking with it this go around lol, life was crazy for me 2 years ago lol. Thanks man I appreciate it! Though you might be kind of pissed how similar our cars will look until I decide (if I decide) to do some exterior stuff :D

Hopefully we can rustle up some of the local Supra guys after the winter, it's been pretty dead here. I'd host a BBQ when my car is done but my house right now is pretty damn small, and damn near no extra parking space. When I buy a house (next year hopefully) I'll be sure to break it in proper like with the Supra family.

Awesome build, in to see what you did for the fuse box relocation.

And, yeah, it's totally dead around here. Pretty sure everyone just parks their Supra in the garage these days.
