I just put the one piece, all stainless Thermal R&D on my 94 single. No resonator, stright 3" piping with very little bent. The sound is deeper/louder than Greddy PE but no louder than Racing Medalion all the way across the rpm. The welding is not as clean as Greddy or Apex but the price is about same as Apex N1. (good clearance too)

Thermal Research & Development make good exhausts. I used to have one on my old Eclipse GSX... with it being turbo , the exhaust note was perfect. Everyone complimented on the exhaust.

I had one for a while, it was a little bit too loud for me under WOT. It is definitely a good value, and it is well made. One thing I didn’t care for was the tip, but that is a personal preference (as is the sound level). I’ve got some pics of the system when it was on my car of you would like to see what it looks like (I’d post them, but the filesize is too large and I don’t have editing software handy).

Bob,

Yeah i'd like to see the pics. Can you email me them.

Thanks

Ok as it stands right now I have a Greddy PE on the car.
I like it ,but i would really perfer something a little louder. Also I
would like stainless steel on my next exaust(the greddy one only has
a stainless canister). Would there be any performance difference between the
the Apexi-GTspec and the Thermal exhaust? The thermal from what I'm told
is 3inch pipe while the apexi is 3.74 inch pipe.

Let me hear your votes: Apexi GT spec or Thermal R&D exhaust

Thanks all for the info

Hey Jon,

I've heard both the GT Spec and Thermal on a mkiv in ttc. The GT spec is definitely a louder, deeper, more aggressive tone.

I have the GT spec and the e-ttc mod done so you can hear mine whenever you want.
