I don't thinkl the wheel is the problem. It looks the rubber is to big. If you are running 18's you need a 275/30/18, not a 275/40/18. With the 40 on the rear you are about 3/4 " bigger than stock.

Xtcdynamic I really want to say that your input was appreciated. It sheds a lot of light on the situation and whenever you have something Intellignent to add just feel free to chimne in. I'd like to thank you all for your input however remember we all have a different offset and the guy that sold me the rim gauranteed me that they would fit. When I went back to challenge him about his advise and gaurantee he got hostile and said too bad Iwas stuck. I told him not if I cancel the credit card order and he stole a rim and ran. I had to chase him down to get it back.He said he would call the cops and I told him to go ahead. I have a reciept and when they see him holding a rim he took from my car they would arrest him for theft when I show my reciept. When I say stole a rim I mean he opened my car door and grabbed a rim and ran with it! So yes I was upset and tired and still haven't got an answer or any sleep. So I'm going to bed an Im gonna wake up in 2 hours go to work again and figure it out later. So those of you that still want to offer assistance feel free allothers pm the wise remarks since this post is for help only. BTW I saw the same listing for the rims that he said was back ordered and when I challenged him on it he said it was a mistake. I truely believe he is baiting and switching as Jeff M. for S/S stated in my other post.He then took that add down from the site. Should I give negative rating or what?

255/45 18's fit fine in the front of my ride... and 275/40 18's are fine in the back. Front is 38mm offset and rear is 45mm offset. As someone said its all in the offset. Quick... pick your self up a little spacer and you will be fine bud.

Edit: also the fronts are 9in and the rears are 9 1/2in

With the 35 offset the rim sits more to the front. Meaning further away from the struts. With a spacer they would stick out even more. A larger offset would bringthe rim more towards the strust and away form the rear Quarter panel "xtc";. I will have to go with a 265 40 18 in the rear or a 255 40 18 in the rear. Im not sure which is the better fit. Also the car is lowered1.5" I had ROH zo6 275 17x8.5 all around but dot remember the offset!

Either way your rolling diameter will be off a fair amount. 255/35-18 would be a better size, only different by .7%

Well, he is correct, the wheels do fit your car. The problem is you are running too big of a diameter tire. Everyone else running 18's usually run 35 series rubber. If you don't want to roll the fenders, then you need to go to a 35 series. If you wanted more rubber in the back you should have gone with a 17" wheel.

Well you are right and wrong Rajunz. The tire offset is really wrong. They probably will work with a smaller tire. Being that the stock offset is 37. The difference in offset is 2mm. Therefore they will work. I had 17" wheels btw. I ran 275x17x8.5 rims all around. Yes even on the front wheels.

285's/40/17's with 31.5 offset (3" lip). Had to stay with stock spring height and rolled the inner fenders, but NO RUBBING.

the 275/40/18 are 7.25% too big...

You need 275/30/18 that are 1.46% too small (much better choise)

For the front to match the back you need.... 235/35/18 (-1.5 %) or 245/35/18 that are (-.43%)

Acctual tire height might varry from tire to tire....

We need a tread that would clarify the diferent offsets and tire sizes that would fit on the MK3 because it is such a big issue...
I certaly dont want to spend $1000+ and have wheels or tires that dont fit.

Opps, I am running 35 offset all round with 285/35/18's in back, no rubbing and a lot of meat in there.

I would like a 40~45 offset next time, but the 9.5" rims fit just about perfect for stance. There is still room in there for a higher offset and some bigger tires!

i had a 7.5inch wide rim on the front of my car that was 45 offset, and it looked really bad. tucked way too far in. why do you say that you want a 45 offset if mine didn't fit at all?
