My 2jzGte twin turbo stock engine had overheating problem caused by a bad head gasket (1.3mm ). The garage guy is like as the head is open now it's better to go for a thicker head gasket of cometic 2.0 mm.Obviously its gonna reduce the compression ratio and thus going to increase the boost. But is it safe and reliable for the engine? Should i put the oem 1.3mm gasket? Will the ignition be fine in the engine?Could you please help me with this one , What's better an oem gasket or 2.0 mm gasket??

Go stock thickness headgasket, 2JZGTE is already 8.5:1
Unless they cut allot off the head and block I would stick to stock size. OEM also makes a thicker gasket too I wouldn't go aftermarket
