I've been chasing timing errors for years. My tach would sometimes jump slightly while idling or cruising. Although I never saw the timing errors increase during pulls, they were more evident at idle or cruising.

I followed quite a few ideas from the forum, chasing my tail, but until I did this one thing, the errors would always exist. Sometimes hundreds accumulated over a one hour cruise!

I switched to a resistor spark plug. Been running 7s / 8s NGK non-resistor (really cheap), but after going to NGK Iridium resistor plugs (Iridium probably doesn't matter), no more timing errors!

Something to consider for those who run into the same issue.
