I am going to be helping a buddy of mine trim a carbon fiber bumper he bought so that it fits his intercooler. It is on an Eclipse. Only about an inch needs to come off. The bumper is then going to be cleared at a body shop and have some flake added in under the clear to give it the same effect the rest of the car has.

I was just wondering if anybody has done this and could give me some advice on doing this. My thoughts were to just tape off both sides mark my areas on the tape and then cut thru the tape.

yepper you can do that. I would mark a line where you need it to be cut.. trim off the excess and finish the job up by sanding it to get a nice clean edge.. make sure you wear a mask...CF very bad for the lungs!!!!
