Anyone running a TO4R on the stock manifold? I have an extrudehoned exhaust manifold that I'm thinking about using. My winter project is to just fab the manifold but was wondering about the stocker working for the time being...

Yes....to the answer to your question. I know of someone running a t04 on the stock manifold. This guy didnt go with the traditional block that fits the turbo on the stock manifold. He boared out the outlet on the manifold and redid the holes on the manifold itself to where the to4 would fit directly ontop of the stock mani. For the waste gate problem he had a pipe welded to the rear of the manifold with a whole in it right where the three cylinders on each side meet up.

Actually measured it all up...going to go with a wedge spacer for the turbo and do exactly what you said Kruso, and mount the wg at the intersection...This is just a temporary solution...for shits and grins! After seeing Ron R's manifold...I have more ideas for fabing up my own manifold over the winter!

If anyone hasn't noticed, a T4 flange and a stock ct-26 flange are pretty damn close. (Like they said above, I guess, so close you would just have to bore out the holes if you really wanted to) I cut a ct flange out on a CNC plasma cutter and couldn't believe how similar it was.

That aside, why a T04R?????

and, your gonna need a wastegate to control the boost. IF your going temporary and have the ability, make up your own adapter with an outlet for a wastegate, or buy one from SuperTmotorsports.com or maxxautoworks.com

TO4r because I can get them DIRT cheap and are capable of over 750rwhp. I can rebuild it in the field and its a proven workhorse. $350 for an adapter that I can easily make myself?

Trey,
I just can't wait to dyno my SP63 and see what it will do on this setup. I am not familiar with T04R's or your to4r flow characteristics, but would be interested in comparing dyno chart's when I finally dyno it since our setups are fairly close. Biggest difference that I know of being IC's and of course turbos..

running t04b 62-1 on a stock man with adatper

al's right it's the same like my turbo..

anyhow t04r is fine on the stock manifold in fact t78 is fine.. but where do you want to go in power?

You'll hit a limit with the stock manifold when it becomes too restrictive..

You can put any turbo you want on that maifold... will it be efficent is the question.
