I heard there was a control that goes into the amp (or mabye its between the amp and the sub) anyways... it controls how hard the sub is hitting ... My cd player is on bass -6 loud - off and x bass (or somthing like that ) off and it still hits harder than i want to..... any sugestions... it sounds like shit with out it and I want to keep it ( i do like to bump every now and then ) I just dont want to bump on the way to work, with a girl , ect.

What kind of amp/sub setup are you running?
Headunit?

Do you have your amp turned all the way down?

ive got a Premier KEH-P525 (shit i know) head with 40w x4 .... the amp is the RF Punch 45.2 with a RF 12' Punch XLC

Yes you can incorporate a volume for your amp that you can adjust separate from the source unit. There are companies out there who make them; audio control is the one I use most often.

You also can go to radio shack a build one, depending of course on you abilities with electronics. or you can do what Tito suggested and turn down the gains, or fire you sub in the opposite direction. All of these will be solutions for your prob.
