Supra's have a side feed fuel rail while HKS rail is top feed. I read some tech article somewhere saying that side feed rails are better for some reason. I believe it was better spray pattern or something. Side feed injectors are more complex than top feed ones. Therefore, they cost more. I was visiting Directed Engineering's website and it stated that side feed rails are safer. Can someone or DE can explain any of these?

Thanks,

side feed have a tendency to not clog as much as top feed. This is due to the fuel being feed all around the injector as opposed to just one entrance. You also get a neat 2ndary effect of cooling the body of the injector wiht the fuel also by flowing it all around the injector body. I would have like to gone wiht bigger side feed injector, but there is only one company that makes them and your still stuck wiht the stock rail flow.(assuming that you don't mod that too). It was cheaper for me to do a big rail and top feed injectors than just 6 new side feed ones.
