Who do you guys recommend these days? I used to get stuff from Elmhurst Toyota like many of you did but they don't seem to be on the forums anymore. Most threads are from a few months ago and no response from the E.T. people. I needs to get some odds and ends like a din pocket, etc. Thanks!

Since Curt retired, I've been getting parts from McGeorge Toyota in Richmond, VA. They have good prices and shipping rates, and can generally get anything I've been looking for (unless it has been discontinued, of course).

Check out your local Toyota dealer's website. I found that they are all networked and will move parts to your local dealer for free. Saves a bunch of shipping costs. I restored my MKIV Supra I bought years ago that way. It beat out all of the prices I found online.

My local Toyota dealer is Round Rock Toyota and they suck as far as parts go. Good luck getting anything and it's overpriced so you don't want it from them anyway. It's cheaper for me to go out of state and have it shipped. Good suggestions so I think I'm good here.

Bonus Question anybody get parts from what used to be called Jay Mark's Toyota (now Autonation Toyota Gulf Freeway) in Houston recently? Back in the day the were one spot to go to.

i also use McGeorge. they seem to have the best prices.
+1. Typically 33-35% of list price. Most Toyota dealer parts websites will show you the % off list price, and I have never seen one cheaper than McGeorge. I also agree that their customer service is top notch. And shipping is very quick, since they are right across the street from the Toyota parts distribution warehouse.

McGeorge Toyota is my go to, and their having a sale right now 10% off and free shipping.
Do you have a link to the 10% off/free shipping deal? I don't see it when I go straight to their online parts site.

Thanks,
Chip

I'd be interested in that too, because McGeorge Toyota states they don't do sales because of having the lowest prices already, and most I've seen for a discount is 10% off SHIPPING on some holidays.

Bookmarked McGeorge, thanks. I've supported my local Toyota dealership for years buying parts but their full list prices and shitty attitude/service are getting pretty long in the tooth...

@Gary Bechtold, YES, I ordered A LOT of parts from Jay Marks many years ago. They were my go-to and had incredible customer service and enthusiasts working in the parts dept. They clearly prioritized internet sales and must have recognized the volume it would generate.

Do you recall any names of parts specialists there? There was one guy who I dealt w/ for a while in the 90's, and he simply disappeared. I remember he and I pondered putting the 1UZ into LandCruisers back when they were still a new engine. There was another (I think he was at Jay Marks) who was a MKIV enthusiast. He raced an MKIV (stripped interior, Toyota or Tom's livery paint, etc). I met him at one of the first TX2K events and cannot remember his name. He collected rare Toyota's as well. Super nice guy, great parts specialist, and a Toyota encyclopedia.

And while I'm talking about parts folks, I cannot say enough about how impressive and important it is when a dealer supports their parts department and even more so when the parts folks are enthusiasts. They often know what I'm doing and what parts I'm failing to order. SUPER valuable. There was a gentleman at a dealer in NM or AZ, Cruiser Dan, who was a god in the Cruiser community. He even took time to research non-US Cruisers and established some parts streams for those goodies. He was eventually lured away by Larry Miller to run the LC museum in SLC.

Anyway, that's a rambling way to say good parts folks and supportive dealers are really great.

I often use McGeorge and Elmhurst. My local dealer, Landers Toyota, treats me well, also, so I am fortunate to use them regularly. If only there were more Lexus dealers w/ parts discounts. I have used a dealer in Scottsdale w/ some success. I digress...

I think it expired. They run that discounted shipping special several times each year, usually around holidays/black Friday, etc.
