hello, please tell me, can the toyota supra a80 be considered a competitor of the bmw e36 coupe 2.8? Has anyone owned bmw e36 coupe 2.8 ? does it drive like a bmw? or is it a good sports car but inferior to bmw in image and design?well, I have a choice between bmw e 36 coupe 2.8 on mechanics or supra, i really like bmw their design, style, interior, sound of 6 cylinder engines. In general, I really like the BMW brand, but the supra also like the design, of course, not as beautiful as the BMW, but I like the 2jz. And the supra doesn't run stock?

I am sensing a language barrier here. I'll help as best I can.

The E36 coupe in lower option levels could be considered similar to the A80 Supra non-turbo 2JZ-GE. The E36 M3 with the 3.2L S50 European specification engine could be considered a competitor to the Supra twin turbo 2JZ-GTE model. I have driven many Supras and a few E36 BMW's. I believe it would be purely decided by personal preference. The Toyota Supra is a much higher quality car that is built to a far higher and more over-engineered standard than the E36. The BMW is far less reliable and more prone to expensive failures, but since both cars are old, one can expect failures and expensive maintenance to be a constant worry and 'fact of life' but I would put much more faith in the Toyota Supra. The BMW E36 M3, though, with the European spec S50 engine making 321hp, is a much 'sharper' and more sporty driving experience in stock form than a Supra twin turbo. The Supra twin turbo, however, has a much higher power potential with larger turbochargers and other power modifications, and the chassis has better high speed stability especially when properly modified.

I would personally choose any A80 Supra over a 2.8L E36 BMW, in my mind and opinion the E36 M3 is the only E36 model that merits consideration against a A80 Supra.
However, E36 coupe models of any engine and trim level make excellent an chassis for an engine swap or big horsepower performance build thanks to the aftermarket suspension and engine swap options for the E36. In the end it all depends on your preferences and what you like more.

Thanks for the answer. I am from Kazakhstan and we have a lot of bmw e36, very few toyota supra a80, and very expensive. We have a lot of e36 ranging from 318 to M3. And how do you like the Nissan Skyline R 33 rb 25det? Has anyone traveled? This?

Greetings from New Mexico, USA! :)

It is fun and special to enjoy a rare car, but it is a big heartbreak and so much trouble when you need parts or service. A80 parts are expensive and rare all over the world now because it is such a celebrated car and not many were ever made.

If an E36 is much more common in your area, I would get an E36 and modify it to your tastes. It almost gives me pain to recommend that but it is much smarter in the end as you will be able to enjoy the car with much less fear of maintenance or damage.

I have driven a few R33 Skylines and they are very Japanese in a different way from the A80. I think they are more of a luxury coupe for highway cruising and not a sporty as an A80 or E36.
If you go Nissan I would recommend the Z32 300ZX over a Skyline, but Z32 are harder to work on and tend to be rarer than the R33 except in the USA.

well, my personal opinion is that the supra a80 is an overrated car than the skyline. The design of the supra is nondescript, simple, the bmw has a style, the radiator grill by which you can always distinguish it, and the supra is popular thanks to the afterburner. And if it is in stock form without body kits and unnecessary tuning, in fact, people may not recognize it, or who knows, he knows. A bmw without even knowing the model can be identified by the icon. We have the only supra for sale and its price is 52 thousand dollars, and if the bmw m3 e36 price is 15 thousand dollars, why is the supra a80 so expensive, probably because it is rare or what factors influence? And the supra a70 price of 7 thousand dollars is ridiculous, that is, it is not valued at all.
