My friend has a 2003 Mustang GT, it is yellow, and has the Magnapack exhaust. I have a supercharged 02 GT. He wants to sell his Mustang GT for a Honda Civic for these reasons...

Better Gas mileage
He can modify it without voiding a warranty to go 12's
It will beat my Mustang GT
It handles better
It is cheaper to fix when it breaks
A t3/T4 Turbo Civic will smoke a supercharged Mustang GT
No payments
Cheaper insurance
Better in the winter (he has a jeep too)

What does everyone think?

So one of his reasons is modding within warranty guidlines for 12's (basically impossible with a civic) and another has to do with turboing it (also, not possible under warranty)?

None of this post makes any sense to me.

Granted some of his reasons are decent (Better Gas mileage, Winter driving, insurance). Otherwise, he's already making a bad decision from step one--his 1st choice of replacement!! For one, he should go with a new/used '04 SVT Focus, SRT4 or RSX-S instead--much better cars all around, period.

If he wants to mod cheaply into the 12's, then the 03 GT is the way to go, anything else would be just a waste unless he wants something totally unique (and $$$ to repair).

Ok, so let's go over this...
Better Gas Mileage = Civic
He can modify it without voiding a warranty to go 12's = You're kidding me right?
It will beat my Mustang GT = Hahahahaha.
It handles better = Hahahahaha. Put on a Griggs A-arm kit and see what happens.
It is cheaper to fix when it breaks = Civic
A t3/T4 Turbo Civic will smoke a supercharged Mustang GT = If and only if it's putting out 240-250hp at the wheels will that Civic hang. Add more to smoke.
No payments = Civic
Cheaper insurance = Depends, under normal circumstances, Civic. Civics are also more likely to get stolen, so idk.
Better in the winter (he has a jeep too) = He has a jeep, so who gives a fvck about the car.

Hope it helps. Oh, and let your friend buy the Civic if he really wants it. It's his decision ultimately.

Better Gas mileage = 1.6L wins
He can modify it without voiding a warranty to go 12's = no
It will beat my Mustang GT = stock civic? no
It handles better = civic. double wishbones, low weight, and a terrific aftermarket help.

It is cheaper to fix when it breaks = civic
A t3/T4 Turbo Civic will smoke a supercharged Mustang GT = tuned well a stock block b16 can make 300whp which in a ~2600lb car can move quite well. if the block is sleeved then shoot for the moon

No payments = sure
Cheaper insurance = doubtful, as stated above, theft rate owns you
Better in the winter (he has a jeep too) = yes

just depends on the amount he wants to spend. if he can trade in his GT for 19k and buy the Si for 12k then yes, he could make it into quite the quick street machine. its not which car is better really, just how much does he want to invest.

this is all imo

Me 4. :stickpoke

Talk about going down on the food chain. If speed is truly what matters, the Mustang has near limitless cheap power potential. I guess you could use this logic to get rid of a Supra TT also (ahh yeah well the Civic is cheaper to operate and has a warranty. And besides, after I get a JDM turbo kit it will be mad fast anyway yo). :stickpoke :sadwavey:
