I have a MKIII with 210K, and the tranny has always been difficult to get back down into first. Not normally a problem however, because I try to wind it up in first before I get into second, plus I can pull away in second from about 3MPH, or downshift at that speed. Any high-speed downshifts into first will put real wear on the first gear sychronizer: I wouldn't do it.
I changed to RedLine MT90 recently, after running regular lube for the first 15 years. Before, I could almost never get into reverse without double clutching or going into first gear first. Now she slips in just as though reverse was synchonized. Imagine what the RedLine must be doing for the other 5 gears that do have synchros. That's one of the first things I recommend you do if you buy a Supra. That and the differential and engine, although Amsoil appears to be preferred for the motor.
